Herb research paid for by pharmaceutical companies

Actually the drug/pharmaceutical companies have tested many of our herbs trying

to test and find the major constituent that they can synthesize and reproduce.

If anyone has connections in that field perhaps we can buy the research reports

that show our herbs are very effective but only in their whole and natural state

as prescribed. This research is useless to the drug companies.

I sent an email several months ago when I discovered that a bio chemist had

bought the research and applied it to a product for sale to the public. He could

not patent the herb however he could patent a delivery system for targeting

receptor cells for the herb.

Gaining access to so called 'failed' research might be an interesting idea if

anyone knows how to get access to it. (Phil any ideas).

Drug-herb interactions are already a big issue and its gonna get bigger in

the future. Of course no pharmaceutical money is going into its research.

Why should it from their point of view. It's all about money, and its not in

the vested interests of the big companies to fund drug-herb research. Nor is

it in the vested interests of doctors to refer out to TCM practitioners,

it's taking the bread out of their mouths. It's up to us to raise funds for

research into drug-herb interactions and acupuncture effectiveness and

pursue our own cause coz no one else is gonna. Even if the governments of

various countries plough money into research it's only gonna be a token

gesture and won't go far enough.
