Guest guest
Thanks to both Karen and Jason for their responses... Jason, Having grown up in Boulder, I'm intimately familiar with the town and do have deep connections (not the least of which is family, friends and friends' family).. you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned its saturation. I wasn't sure, but when I looked up acupuncturists last time I was there I was surprised at how many were listed. And that's just the listed ones! I even looked up Nederland and Lyons hoping that maybe those places, near Boulder, would be better.. but no! A town as small and isolated as Nederland already had, I think 2 or 3 acupuncturists! Lyons as well. My dear collegues had already thought of this contigency plan! How could you blame them?.. what a beautiful, beautiful town. I think I only just really realized it the last time I visited, in June. I always knew, but.. somehow the place you grew up is intertwined in all your memories and just *is*.. but perhaps I had the distance this last time to be truly amazed. That and it had just rained for a week straight and the greenery was amazing. Do you by chance know the first most saturated area? Thanks for the input and the invitation.. I just may look you up next time I'm out there :> And Karen, I know what you mean about finding other practitioners and it definitely is something I've thought about. The issue I'm having is I have a very clear impression in my mind of what exactly it is I want my clinic to be - I've spent hours upon hours on my business plan, I've written up my clinic paperwork, have much preliminary marketing material, lay at night dreaming about what the waiting room, entry area, treatment rooms, etc. will look like. I'm sick, I know! lol. So it would be difficult to jump into someone else's clinic. I would absolutely love a partner who was like-minded and similarly driven, but also had strengths where my weaknesses are (both businesswise and treatmentwise) and vice versa.. but as much as I'm keeping an eye out I don't want to pin my future on finding that person. Guest guest
I am practicing in Nederland if you have any specific questions. It is a small town, and my practice has been slow to build (I finished school in Dec. 2001 but relocated and didn't 'set up shop' until around September of the following year). There are two other acupuncturists that I know of in town, and while I don't know much about one of them, I think the second struggles equally. -Lisa I even looked up Nederland and Lyons hoping that maybe those places, near Boulder, would be better.. but no!
