Guest guest
Hi all, here at ground zero, I am still focused on trying to understand What type of symptoms a person with a San Jiao dysharmony might look like. The universe has heard my pleas and just today provided me with just such a patient who was in desperate straights. (unless I have made a mistake). IMO one of the difficulties most of us experience as acupuncturists is objective data that we can use as a starting point from which to truly understand. any how. this female is a pure Fire person. 1st one I have seen for a long time in the clinic that I could say so with confidence. She is constitutuionally deficient in the Pericardium meridian and excess/ stag. in the San Jiao Meridian. Because her Pericardium is quite deficient and has been for quite a while it has weakend her spleen and this is visible on her tongue plus bruises easily it has also affected her LIV a little and generated sadness in the Lu. also gets lower back ache in the sacrum with the periods (P) her main presenting symptoms is depression (anger and envy) because she hates the way she looks, quite fat ( says there is a thin person inside her trying to get out) her periods are interesting as she can put on half a stone of water weight in the 10 days up to period, The oedema is whole body, periods are painful, with small and large clots, normal blood. Her face is really interesting I had thought so for a long time but could never put my finger on it. Now I think it might be a 'Fire face'. Can get a little breathless and has in the past experienced stiches around P-1. has shoulder tension and can get stresss headaches that encompasss most of the back and sides of the head. emotionally will blow hot and cold on her husband at different times but is soon sorry and understanding. I sedated a number of points on the S Jiao and in her words 'her eyes stopped shaking' and 'felt calmer' I also sedated Ren-6 then proceeded to tonify a number of points on the Pericardium. I feel confident of my prognosis and treatment because she felt more together and calmer and in her words 'totally different' after the Tx. The interesting point to do with the excess San Jiao are the Whole body oedema tied to periods and painful periods which I am assuming is because of the way the internal channel links to the lower abdomen in the Ren meridian also the headache is unsatisfactory to pin down. it is not the GB or BL meridians nor is it like a KID or LIV def. salvador
