Guest guest
In Clavey, Chapter 8 (Phlegm treatments: principles and methods), pg 319-321; has a short discussion on Tonifying Yin fluids and resolving phlegm as a root treatment. Yin xu with fire drying fluids into phlegm is treated by " moistening yin fluids to reduce fire, cooling heat and transforming phlegm " . Guiding formula's mentioned are Liu Wei Di huang Wan and Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan. Yin deficiency may result in Phlegm-Heat/Fire patterns so root and branch treatment will depend on individual patient presentation. Also damp/phlegm and heat (shi or xu) produce each other which is worth keeping in mind. Hope this is useful, Steve On 05/07/2004, at 12:09 AM, wrote: > Does anyone have any good discussions and/or case studies in Chinese > (or English) on mixed phlegm (or damp) and yin xu patterns.
