Guest guest
Hi all, See below, taken from http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/uknews/news20040702.shtml#4 As many as 10,000 patients are dying annually from serious reactions to prescribed drugs, according to researchers. Research carried out by doctors at Liverpool University has found that at least one in 16 patients admitted to NHS hospitals has ended up there because of an adverse drug reaction. The figures also reveal that nearly three- quarters of the reactions are avoidable, with patients suffering well-known side-effects that could have been prevented. Researchers are calling for action to curb the escalating cost and save lives lost through poor prescribing. Attilio
