Yes there is, but very few people seem to take it before they take SSRIs

(anti depressants). You can get it privately from www.Yorktest.com in the

UK, they test for several neurotransmitter levels.

Dear Dermot

It isn't one of those you have listed, it is called a Neurotransmitter Test,

costs £350 (if you are a registered practitioner, there is a discount

available) and requires a full 16ml blood sample. They test for levels of

Adrenaline (Epinephrine), Noradrenalin (Norepinephrine), Dopamine,

Serotonin, Histamine and Acetylcholine.

Hope this is helpful.

This is obviously an expensive test and the correlation between

neurotransmitter levels in blood and brain is weak since they are readily

metabolized.

Psychopharmacologists measure the metabolized products in body fluids for

this reason.

Dr. Omura has developed a non-invasive method for meausing neurotransmitters

in the brain. It is not a machine, but rather it measures a muscle response

of the practitioner - similar to radiasthesia. For those interested check

out the reference below.

Omura Y, " Bi-digital o-ring test molecular identification and localization

method " and its application in imaging of internal organs and malignant

tumors as well as identification and localization of neurotransmitters and

micro-organisms--Part 1.
