Additional Reflections from Observations

Hi all,

A doctor last week described how the body is made up of positive and

negative points. Positive relates to Yang and negative to Yin. So the top of

the head will be positive and the chin is negative. The upper chest is

positive and the lower abdomen is negative. The upper thigh negative and

above the knee positive. Just below the knee is negative and just above the

ankle is positive and so on.

Within each of these spheres lies two boundaries, Yang and Yin. Each of

these spheres can represent humankind at the microcosmic level, which of

course relates to the macrocosmic level.

Now take any sphere on the body, I.e. the lower leg, from below the knee to

the ankle, and there you can find the microscopic representation of the

body. The upper part is Yin and the lower part above the ankle is Yang.

Therefore, the head is above the ankle and the genital area is below the

knee.

There are many different styles of TCM, especially acupuncture, that use

this theory to treat illnesses. As I explained before with abdominal

acupuncture, the whole body can be represented on the abdomen, which relates

to this theory. I also observed a gynaecological disorder, dysmenorrhoea,

being treated by pressing and massaging a 'uterus' point on the upper inner

leg. Not an acupoint but rather in relation to the above theory of

anatomical location based upon positive and negative theory.

So, my thinking is this. That any theory of the body can be born, such as

abdominal acupuncture, hand massage and reflexology by using the microcosmic

theory of Yin and Yang/positive and negative.

What do other members think? Has anyone 'created' their own style of

acupuncture by using this theory.

Does this theory relate in some way to vibrational medicine in some way?

Kind regards

Attilio

Hi Attilio

I practice a unique form of shiatsu called Body Energy Balance Shiatsu. We

use the same pressure points but the application is different than other

forms. New forms are always possible if the intention behind the form is

directed in the right way.

Allilio, Hi, I think you're on to something fundamental; a way to look at each

part as it relates to the whole, and how to use that knowledge to correct or

allow the intrinsic healing effect to become more than the self-image of

sickness. Thinking like the Vitruvian Man, about bilateral human nature, or

eightfold chemical genetic expression. In cold blooded creatures, the tendency

for uncontrolled mutation is lower than in endothermic critters with their

tendency toward creating yang(yang + yang = more yang). But only a theory that

results in healing the human's or other's ills is medicine. Yin and Yang. No

Thing is outside it. Our bilateral nature and multiple dualistic manifestations

give us the grid to work on. Clear yang enters at head, empty matter leaving

lower turbid orifice, but even in this, there is a little yin in yang and a

little yang in yin. Like sweat on the brow, heat in palms, soles, calves. Head

to toe, verticle bands; Left to right horizontal bands. Not

theoretical, with anatomical reflex understanding, steer the conciousness to

heal the body. A way to take someone's mind off their stubbed toe is to pinch

them on the forearm. Human reflex is up to a full second slower on inhale than

at exhale. Before yin and yang met, before yin and yang separated, there was

no left or right or up or down, past or future, injury or medicine, or duality

of any kind, just Unity(the Mysterious, Clear Luminous Anscestor). A small point

stirred and all became everything, forever re-creating its' selves in a

limitless empty sky filled with light. Soon, drawn to each other through eons

and kalpas beyond calculation, from remotest isolation, the essence of Unity

entered/emerged from even the coagulating slowing strands of the prehensile

dream soup, and tried to express the imprint of undiferentiated childhood joy,

before we knew that in the smallest particles or vibrational units there was the

power of a hundred suns, and the hugest celstial objects

collapse to infinite smallness; the greatest becomes the least, the least is

raised. Blah, blah, blah...

Hi Ykcul and Fred,

Yes, it seems that all things can be found within Yin and Yang. The most

basic and simple of the TCM theories holds so much, and used by itself as a

simple base for a treatment principle, has great power and effect. Many of

humankind's woes and answers to life can be found within the forces of Yin

and Yang, positive and negative.

Kind regards

Attilio
