" " The lung governs the various vessels and regulates the energy of the whole body, like a prime minister assisting the king to reign the country. " I hope this helps. Guest guest
Dear Dr. Keikobad, > > It does not. Which vessels, channels? It does not what? The question was where was the quote in the Nei Jing and I cited the chapter and quote in the translation by Wu/Wu. Are you saying that the Nei Jing doesn't state this? It may or may not .. this is the translation that I have. Or are you saying that the Nei Jing is wrong and lung does not govern the vessels. This is what the Wu/Wu translation states. It can be interpreted in any fashion that one likes. The translation is an interpretation to begin with. :-) Personally, from my experiences with Tai Chi and Qi gong, the Lung does govern the vessels. It " breathes " into them. But this is just my interpretation. I shy away from " literal " or concrete interpretations - e.g. this governs this and that governs that. They are all ultimately working together. I try to just understand how the whole system operates, both internally and with the external world - since, I believe, it is all ultimately connected. My current perspective likens the body to a large flowing pipe system that gates out to the external world. What moves the qi? What gates (opens and shuts) the body to the outside world? What creates the closed system (the body)? The Mind, Spirit, and Soul? Thank you for sharing with me your perspective. Regards, Rich
