Guest guest
Hi, Homi. Chitosano derives from the shells of small shrimp-like crustaceans. Usually it is employed as a filter, to drain and purify polluted water. Great water puryfiers of large towns use it, up to keep off metals, poisons, petrol derivatives. It is often sold for " medical " purposes, to ease dieting (I'm fat, so I can say that when I eat less, I loos weight; strange, but when I eat more, I gain weight!), because of its properties as a filter. It seems quite safe and it seems -this is interesting- let normal absorbtin of proteins, fat and carbohydrates, even if perhaps carbohydrates and fats enter the snall intestine mucosae, with more difficulty. Dott. Iovane thought could prevent absorbtion of glutine, and clinical evidence is confirming it. He doesn't know yet if it is for a while, or only if the patient is taking Chitosano, and it is completely unknown if, after months or years, will change the mucosal condition: he is only at the beginning. This is very important to know and to tell to patients. We don't know if it is a real medical treatment or only a symptomatic treatment. Remember it. But it works, at the present time. Please, ask him.
