Guest guest
(This msg from other group for ease in helping make wishes known to US gov) Hi, Maryann, and hi ALL other 1,741 members(at last count)of this board! Members, I apologize for the place in which I SCREAM in this message, but once in a while, things NEED to be SCREAMED. I do not, and I am sure you do not, want to end up dis-eased, decrepit and in an " old age home " one day because not enough of us told Congress where to get off when they began to think about restricting our access to health supplements! i do not, and I am sure you do not, want to see a sick loved one die because all that were available to him for treatment were harmful and ineffective pharmaceuticals and other mainstream treatment. Maryann, you wrote: " hope these sites never go down " Well, " hope " is wonderful, and you meant it kindly, but " hope " is just is not enough. You also wrote: " don't trust doctors at all " Well, yeah! Most of us don't, and from what Mark posted recently, it looks as if they are giving us a HUGE reason to trust them still less, in that they are lobbying Congress to enact laws that will greatly restrict people's access to vitamins, supplements and even to sites like this! I have found that there is very little discussion about topics and suggestions posted on the board, and that is fine since that appears to be the nature of this board---a place devoted more to getting information out than to chatting about it. Now here comes the scream: BUT GOOD HEAVENS, I CERTAINLY WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT EVEN THOUGH THERE MAY NOT BE RESPONSES ON THE BOARD FROM MEMBERS SAYING, " OK, MARK---I'VE DONE IT, AND THANKS! " , THAT EVERY ONE OF OUR 1,741 MEMBERS WILL TAKE THE SCANT 15 SECONDS IT TAKES TO ACCESS THE LINK MARK GAVE AND TO SEND OFF THAT LETTER ABOUT NOT LIMITING ACCESS TO HEALTH SUPPLEMENTS TO ALL THEIR REPRESENTATIVES! IF WE DON'T TAKE THE TIME TO DO THAT, WE DESERVE WHATEVER THE AMA AND CONGRESS DISHES OUT TO US! LET'S GET OFF OUR DUFFS AND DO IT NOW!!! Here again is the link Mark provided: http://capwiz.com/nnfa/issues/alert/?alertid=4089036 I further hope we will all FORWARD Mark's message to any and all persons we think would be willing to send the letter to their own represenatives. If anyone does not understand where I am coming from with this message, please REFERENCE messages 20785 and 20797. Thank you again for this board, Frank! Blessed wishes to all,
Guest guest
Hi Ykcul_ritsym! Relax, take a deep breath. Representative Harris' office tells me that the acupuncture/medicare bill needs 100 co-sponsors to be reported out of committee. It has 42. These bills you are talking about have far, far less, maybe 11 out of the hundred needed. Screaming won't help at this point. A personal note to your own representative, without the hysteria, may be somewhat more effective. Looking at the link, it looks like the Rs are more our friends than the Ds, if I'm reading it right. I understand that the new medicare bill being prepared for introduction in the future may have some provision for acupuncture, but the details are so far unavailable. I have no more information than this. Guest guest
I believe this to be generally true. Even though there are generous campaign contributions from businesses, Rs, (Representatives) often have a conscious and don't always vote with the contributors. Think back to the 90's in the US. If we educate the R's as to what safe, effective and inexpensive options we have to drugs, we will gain much. Guest guest
Hi Pete. I only posted this for the easy contacts that people can use. I'm not a big screamer advocate either. Glad to see this is being followed, as allegiances and proposals will be shifting and contention over who will be the Health Care Czars will come to a head in the next two years. Just gotta explain over and over, and show the benefits of these profound, elegant, sophisticated, gentle methods we use. Pete Theisen <petet wrote:Hi Ykcul_ritsym! Relax, take a deep breath. Guest guest
Hi Chris! Acronyms are confusing and I fell into the trap. R (Republicans), D (Democrats), sorry for not being clear. Guest guest
Hi Ykcul_ritsym! I think we stand a better chance with the Republicans than the Democrats. The Ds are into this world government nonsense and things in Europe are very hostile to natural medicine and supplements in my opinion. IF the US retains its sovereignty I think Washington DC will be much more responsive to us than some unfamiliar super-government. To this end I am working on the Bush campaign and the Harris campaign as well. I pity the acupuncturists, herbalists and other natural healers in Europe - looks like things are going to get bad for them. At 02:49 PM 5/23/2004, you wrote: >Hi Pete.
