Guest guest
As I was doing some research last night, I came across a bill that's in the Ohio House right now that, if passed, will set up a State Medical Board of Naturopathy. Aspects of TCM can be performed right now in Ohio (Acupuncture under License, and Tui Na under the Licensed Massage Therapy liense), but the one piece missing is the ability to prescribe and perform herbology. If this board is passed and becomes a part of the Medical community (and allopathic organizations are highly against it), then Doctors of Naturopathy will be allowed to perform herbology, prescribe, do massage/tui na and perform acupuncture. I'm hoping it passes, as I'm considering pursuing a degree in Holistic Health and Naaturopathy to allow me to integrate TCM. The scary thing is that right now in Ohio, is that a practicing and licensed allopathic doctor can perform acupuncture or herbology without ever needing to go through any formal training or apprenticeship -- they're considered adjunct modalities that they employed automatically. -- Jason Paul McCartan - jasonm
