Guest guest
Dear folks, Thanks to all for the advice and information on manual techniques for knee pain. I will try them and see if it helps. Jason, she is 77 years old, so I don't think she has been running recently. However, her kneecap is positioned just as you describe it. Thanks for the advice. Thanks for the > advice. The medical term is Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, commonly known as Runner's Knee, because the majority of cases are seen in runners who like to run on roads -- roads (at least in the US and other Western countries) are higher in the center and lower at the lateral edges to allow drainage. Road runners will runn on the road near the gutter putting undue strain usually on their outermost leg (usually their right one). I suffered from it a little myself not so long ago, and would get shooting pains in my right knee after sitting or standing for a long time. Exercise, joint movement and some massage helped me out, although too many years of ballistic stretches and kicks certainly don't help. -- Jason Paul McCartan - jasonm
