Guest guest
The comments on the slaughterhouses sound horrific enough to be unbelievable- and I know they are not. Years ago, I read a book called " Poisons in our Food " , don't remember the authoe. It is about the meat packing industry in Chicago. Imagine Patricia's comments, expanded to book length. Bleecchhh!!! I couldn't look at meat for a very long time after that, and now don't eat meat at all, but do eat seafood. The information about toxic substances in farmed salmon, coupled with the new rulings about including farm-spawned fish in counting the wild salmon population, so that the fisheries can take more fish, makes me ready to give up salmon, as well! What's next--cruelty to vegetables? Just because we can't hear them screaming, does that make killing plants OK? Remember the seismic research with tomatoes? This is not at all sarcastic. I want to point out that we will not be able to eat anything if we take the cruelty thing to extremes. Where do we draw the line? I don't have an answer...
