Tens of millions in India live wholly vegetarian lives and flourish in

health and

creativity.

If one must eat a corpse, there ought to be a better reason than that

vegetarian

diet makes one unhealthy.

Hi all,

I have the heart of a vegetarian, but the body of a omnivore, unfortunately.

I think most people can live healthfully as vegetarians if they do it

right, but I'm not one of them. I get depressed, bloated, and unable to

sleep when I am a vegetarian. So I do my best to stick to the most

cruelty-free meat that I can. It is true, from what I understand, that in

the United States animals are treated abominably---unless you only buy

organic.

Hi Laura and listers,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. My thoughts on this

subject are this. I try not to become to caught up on this issue,

since it is not " healthy " to become stressed over what I eat -

especially while I am eating. I try to remember to " thank " the animal

that gave it's life energy so that I might continue living out my

life. I also remember that plants also have " life energy " that I am

using (plants are also living creatures). And when I have a chance, I

try to relax and ruminate about it all. It is more than I can

currently understand. :-)

Regards,

Rich

After all that has been written on this list and in our text books, I

find it very difficult to believe that you cannot honestly come up with any

reasons for some people to eat animals, except the vegetarian diet makes one

unhealthy.

Your last comment seems to me extremely superficial and flies in the face

of many of he authors here. Did you miss the lst two weeks of posts? If so,

I apologize. Otherwise,,,,

On some lists, a comment like that especially after all that was written,

would be considered an inflammatory comment with no point other than to start

a fight.

Why did you decide to make that comment?

It was late and I was over the top. Sorry to be so hard on you.

Reminds me of a joke:

Two cannibals are eating. One says to the other:

" you know, I hate my mother-in-law. " The other says:

" then just eat the vegetables! "
