Guest guest
I have someone with a clear cut case of globus hystericus. He has the classical symptoms of viscid mucous and depression and stagnated LV and ST qi. My question: Apart from the conventional points to destagnate LV and ST, are there points which can liquefy this maddening mucous? And I am not an herbalist: what kind of herbs should he take to address the ST and LV and mucous and the depression? Dr. Holmes Keikobad MB BS DPH Ret. Guest guest
Hi Dr. Homi! In Jake Fratkin's book " Chinese Herbal Patent Medicines " (1195 pages, listings of packaged ready to use stuff - really, really good reference book), 3D-5 Ban Xia Hou Po Wan - Plum Flower " Pinellia & Magnolia Teapills " for the mucus. Three pages of " Digestion " stuff in the *Index*, can't possibly type it all! Depression, 7A and 8C - lots of listings, with full descriptions, symptoms, actions, cautions - everyone should have this book. I look up the herbs while the patient is retaining the needles. 7A, (Depression - Liver GB) Yi Guan Jian Wan, Ge Xia Zhu Yu Tang Wan, Tien Tia Wu Yao San Wan, Te Zhi Xiao Chang Qi Wan, Xiao Chai Hu Tang, Chai Hu Long Gu Mu Li Wan, Si Ni San Wan, Chai Hu Shu Gan Wan, Shu Gan Wan, Shu Gan Wan Nong Suo. 8C, (Depression - Disturbed Shen) An Mien Pian, Shen Jing Shuai Ruo Wan, Suan Zao Ren Wan, An Shui Wan, Shui Di An, Gan Mai Da Zao Wan, Shen Ai Wu Wei Zi Wan, Zao Ren An Shen, An Shen Yang Yin Cha, Ding Xin Wan, Tien Wang Bu Xin Wan, Bai Zi Yang Xin Wan, Bu Nao Wan, Jian Nao Wan, An Shen Bu Nao Wan, Jian Nao Ling, Nao Li Bao, An Shen Bu Xin Wan, Zhu Sha An Shen Wan, Ci Zhu Wan, Qing Chun Huo Li Pian, Shui Di An. Guest guest
HI Homi, you don't say wether the phelgm is white yellow green, send me DOB off line and ill add my 2 cents worth in. all physicall disharmonies can be traced back to root /branch. seldom is there a point that is the cause of it that will work in every person. Western medicine likes to pigeon hole people in that 'reductionist ' manner. salvador www.meridian-qi-acupuncture.com Chinese Medicine , " homi kaikobad " <aryaone@e...> wrote: > I have someone with a clear cut case of globus hystericus.
