Guest guest
Hey Al - Im sure you remember me a few months back posting about how i would get shooting pains in my ring finger when in the presence of cold. Well it turns out that I have a glomus tumor under the nail, its benign, and its nothing serious but not very common. I am going for the surgery on tuesday to get it removed, and then i should be pain free !! Just thought i'd let you know. Oh, and i am 2 months into acupuncture school now, and i am loving it. So far we learned the lung and large intestine channels, some oriental theory, 5 elements. Ashley

Guest guest
In 20% of the cases, the tumor grows back, so I would encourage stick with the treatments you're getting, hopefully they can prevent it from returning. I note that although there is some recognition of what a glomus tumor is, the solitary kind's cause is unknown. In Chinese medicine, there are a few different causes for tumors, but we still have to focus on your perceptions such as sensitivity to cold. Not all glomus tumor patients report that, though many do. I return to the two formulas for cold extremities, one due to a lack of internal warmth and the other more of a circulatory issue. Anyway, I hope that the excision helps you feel better. Thanks for the follow up on this. -al.
