Guest guest
Hi Al and others, I'm interested in your views on the following topic: why certain raw food vegan or minimal animal protein foods seem to cure cancer and how you reconcile that with the view of seeing raw fruits and vegetable as too yin and therefore conducive to imbalances. The examples I have in mind are Dr. Max Gerson and Ann Wigmore to name a few. Thanks to you all! Marilia Powers

Raw foods are cold in nature and can be a problem among those who's digestive heat (Spleen yang) is deficient. Thus, they can cause diarrhea, bloating, indigestion, etc. This may be more of a problem as we age, and our internal fire wanes. Also, the raw foods of antiquity were far more raw than the carefully crafted and " tender " foods that are possible today. I've read that today's raw foods are more digestible than they were in the past. Raw fruits are the norm in the west and I haven't really seen any problems with this when eaten in balanced quantities. Chinese culture is not really big on raw foods, partially because of their perception of raw foods as unclean, thanks to a history of human excrement used as fertilizer. Minimal animal protein is a popular approach in Asia. They make the meat on the plate more of a condiment than the main course. I agree with this approach. As for rectifying this with a " cancer cure " . Those two words used together are something of a red flag for me. Not going to put any of my eggs in that basket until what Max and Ann promote becomes more widely accepted, researched, etc. -al. -- , DAOM Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. http://twitter.com/algancao
