Guest guest
So today I went for a treatment at the Tri-State college of acupuncture in New York. And they treated me for migraines, and the shooting pain that I have in my ring finger of my left hand when I feel cold. They said they used points along the triple heater. I was quite cold before they put any needles in and I felt the pain in my finger. Once the needles were in maybe a minute or two after, the pain went away ! Plus they put the foil blanket over me to make me warm. However, when I left I had to go into the cold brutal weather and they pain came back. SO my question is, if this treatment they did on me worked so well, but only while the needles were in, is there anything possible I could do while not on the table that will have this same effect ? ALSO I have been accepted to two schools , Tri State in NYC and Eastern School in New Jersey where I live, and I must decide where I want to go this next semester. If anyone has any suggestions or experiences with these schools please let me know. Thank you so much.
Guest guest
If the problem is cold in your triple burner channel, then exposure to the cold weather will aggravate that. Guest guest
okay so that definitely is the case here. Now that we know that, is there anything that I can do to help the pain while not on the table ?  Ashley ________________________________ Al Stone <al Chinese Traditional Medicine Sun, December 13, 2009 3:20:05 PM Re: [Chinese Traditional Medicine] triple heater  If the problem is cold in your triple burner channel, then exposure to the cold weather will aggravate that. Guest guest
You can get yourself a moxa stick, light it, and run it up and down the trajectory of the triple burner channel. That should help you. On Sun, Dec 13, 2009 at 3:53 PM, Ashley Hendricks <ashley111287wrote: > > > okay so that definitely is the case here. Guest guest
I think you may expect to much as people tend to do when going to get acupuncture or similar treatment, that one treatment will cure you completely. However this is not the case. It may take several treatments, depending on the state of the problem you have. There is sometimes immediate results but certainly not all the time. Since you describe pain in the ring finger, yes it is probably the Triple warmer meridian that is involved in the problem. And knowing that, you can look up where the trajectory of that meridian is and you can help you self by rubbing it warm say once or twice a day. And with Chinese medicine it is like teaching the system to get well, not telling it to get well at once. So if you get a problem like getting cold air to your arm, get a treatment, get a little bit better, and then go out and expose it to cold air again then it will give symptoms again. So help your self by rubbing and continue to get acupuncture for the condition until it is well. also some Qigong may help. /Peter http://alternativbloggen.blogspot.com/ Chinese Traditional Medicine , Ashley Hendricks <ashley111287 wrote: > > okay so that definitely is the case here.
