Guest guest
Hello Monica, because of brain surgery I was left with seizure disorder but am hopeful that I am now cured. Please if anyone out there has anything they can advise on this subject let us know. I have been weaning from seizure meds for 6 years now and am nearly off of them. I pray I'm correct and that my body has healed itself. I am currently taking magnesium, this was recommended to me by someone here on Herbal remedies. I think if you have a strong desire to be free of medico you can do anything. I have that desire, my poor husband is beside himself thinking I'm being reckless. I want to succeed in this. Then we can work on him. Medico has brain washed us long enough. The power is within each and every one of us to accomplish good health and well being. Please if any of you know something on this subject share it with Monica and myself. Love and light to all of you. Micki *** I stopped eating processed food and all the bad 'whites' and stopped coffee and am careful about the alkalide foods etc. My energy level and ability to think clear has really improved. I am sure from this experiment that I am no doubt full of candida and probably have several pounds extra (yuck ) in my colon - including parasites of course. My problem is that something has also started my grand mal seizures up again. I refuse to go back on any medico 'cure' which controls the seizures at the expense of my health and life. I am currently taking scullcap for the seizures. Will it work to begin all the cleanses - every one - while taking scullcap? If I allow myself to have the seizures I will have several grand mals a day and could easily bite off my tongue. Not a pretty picture and very painful! The more I allow my brain to seizure - the more difficult it is to stop the cycle. I am willing to try another herb to control the seizures if say lobelia would be better. Haven't tried lobelia but this would be the time to test its effectiveness. A bit of background - I had my first seizure after hitting the back of my head when I was 26 years old. I don't have them very often, but they are bad and I have them back to back until after I control them with herbs for a while. I don't know what actually triggers them - thought it was after a period of high stress has passed - but not sure now. Anyway, I really want to do all the cleanses and eventually be seizure free. What are your thoughts??? Any hope for me? Hopeful in Ohio 8) Monica Grubb *** ______________
Guest guest
Micki: I read up on Epilepsy cause I got it at an early age. The Doctor's excuse for me starting to have seizures around age 12 was that my body was developing too fast and I wouldn't let it.. Uh right. I found that it was a chemical imbalance of Magnesium and vitamin B6. I bought supplements and took them along with my medicaton (Phenobarbital) I outgrew the epilepsy within 10 years. In fact I felt so good I could feel what the medication was doing to me and did not like it. On my own I went off my medication 5 grains of Phenobarbital and have not had a problem since. Not only was I taking proportionate quantities of Magnesium, Vit B6 and Vitamin B2, which works well with vit B6, I was eating green leafy veggies. Went from grand mall seizures to petite ones to none. Clay. Ps the Doctor told me if I went off my meds I would go into a repeaded seizure until I died................Guess I proved him wrong! Guest guest
Good for you Clay. I read an article in the Wall Street Journal (of all places) about 7 years ago, that stated, 75% of all diagnoses were wrong. That means we have a one in four chance of getting the right diagnosis when going to a Medico. I'd prefer the odds in Vegas. I did have a few little seizures through the cleanse but took lobelia immediately which stopped them right away. It has been about a month since I did the cleanse and now I am having more seizure trouble. I have discovered that the lobelia stops a seizure immediately but has no long term effects. I can't take lobelia to stop seizures that might happen during my sleep because I woke up disoriented, on the floor, beside my bed, Tuesday morning and had bit my tongue (difficult to swallow or talk) and had a large scratch on my forehead where I fell out of bed during a grand mal. During the next day I tried to use lobelia. It stopped the current seizure but it did not stop the cycle of seizures. I still had them starting up every three hours which makes each one stronger. I also noticed that when I took lobelia to stop a seizure, it seemed to make the scullcap noneffective. I ended up using phenobarbital with scullcap to stop seizure activity during that night. It has been three days since I had the grand mal. I have been taking scullcap to control seizures ever since. Scullcap confuses me so I don't know what day it is but I have no idea what else to do right now. Guest guest
Dear Monica, Just saw this post of yours attached to Don's. In addition to his recommendation to see a chiropractor which I fully back, I'd also recommend the following. 1. Hot and Cold Therapy on the Back of the Head and Neck. 2. My Brain Formula (Contains both Gingko and Cayenne) - (2 dropperfuls 3 times a day) 3. Enzyme Therapy. (Everytime you eat or drink something, take an enzyme cap with it). 4. Daily extra Garlic in your diet. (Take 4 medium to large cloves a day - chop in half or quarters and dip in olive oil and then down the hatch) 5. Continue taking the Lobelia Formula - 2 dropperfuls 3 times a day or more as needed. 6. Do the Blood Detox Regimen for a couple of weeks. This would include both the tincture and the tea. 7. Once you've been on all the above for 3 days, begin taking a dropperful of DMSO for a week. 8. Get your hubby to massage the back of your head and neck every night before bed. He should go up and down the spine as well. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hello Monica, Yes you can take it to stop seizures (at least I can) I have never been aware of a seizure when I have them, I experienced holes in my tongue and all the other unpleasant things that happen (embarrassing). I take lobelia tincture before I go to bed. I started with 3-4 dropperfuls just to be on the safe side and I have reduced to 1-2 dropperfuls. I sleep like a baby. I had brain surgery in 1997 and was left with grand mal seizures. Over the years the seizures diminished. Like you I eat organic food and have pared my prescriptions down to practically nothing. I also keep my body cleansed as you are doing. I will see a specialist on the 13th to get off everything if I possibly can. I do not think I have a seizure disorder anymore. Lobelia tincture gives me the reassurance I need to get off this last pill. I used to take eight 250 mg. tablets daily. So taking one (which is not a therapeutic dose) is sort of silly, but my husband has been through the wringer in years past. I do this for him. I also take 1/4 of another med and is not a therapeutic dose. As soon as I finish them up I will not take anymore. Nearly 9 years now is when I started withdrawing from prescriptions and I did it very slowly (should be illegal to prescribe over 20 meds to anyone) but they did and boy was it playing havoc on me. So many interactions and problems. I got sick of being a guinea pig and sick of being sick. Anytime you are on that many meds you are just that. I took control of my health and am still working on it. I research everything thoroughly. My history is not pretty, but I have been healthier since I made this decision many years back. I'm on my way and will continue to research and read and order books to educate myself so that I never have to take drugs again. I hope this helps sharing with you. I learned over the course of the past 9 years that I could control a lot with my mind. Of course I knew this many years ago but I was just plain lazy and bought into medico because of brainwashing and it seemed easier, well it was not. I wouldn't be going to a specialist on the 13th except it will put my husbands mind at ease to know that I have checked with a doctor before stopping this last pill. He is becoming a believer in natural herbal healing, it's exciting to watch him grow in this area and when he saw his cardiologist in August he ask if he could get off some of his meds. YES, I am rubbing off on him and I love it. He's accepting everything and is the biggest supporter of organic eating you ever saw. He is so healthy now and has discontinue 4 meds so far. Isn't that exciting. Many blessings and much love. Micki PS - my seizure activity diminished, this might not work for you but it's worth a try. I truly believe in Lobelia and taking it everynight is a blessing because it helps my asthma as well as prevents seizure activity. Have you tried taking it at bedtime. Doc provides the recipe in the files and you can make a huge big batch to last a long time. But until then you can order it from Doc and gang. ### A little background - I had a seizure after hitting the back of my head when I was 25. Guest guest
Al, Your posts are wonderful. Having read your response re coldness you touched on several areas of interest. The coldness would be me (tension). Then you related heart problems to distant behavior. Me again, and something I've always wondered about. Being distant, not " in-the-moment, has been my m.o. for most of my adult life. My dcm is helping me greatly. I notice improvemnet every week. Yet is has been over 6 months. Still it will be worth it. I will then be a new person and have many new activities; being open and friendly among them. Any advice on the transition? A few months ago I would have gladly cut off an arm to have an end to my heart arrhythmia. Finally to the point of this message. Seizures. A friend has had them since youth and had a operation in his teens. Now he's on anti-seizure meds. Lately he's had a seizure in December the last 2 years. I know that the timing is revealing in TCM and would appreciate any insight that might get his not-very-open-to-alternative self into the Doc's office. Same request for a female friend who has been needy her whole life and on anti-anxiety medicine for 30 years. We're all in our late 50's. Thank you, John Caldwell

Any of these approaches can help in my opinion, but it until it really turns into dementia where you don't recognize people you should, or are disoriented in time and space, it is somewhat under the herbal radar, well within the " normal " range. We may not be perfect, but we're not ill either. My dcm is helping me greatly. I notice improvemnet every week. Yet is has > been over 6 months. Still it will be worth it. I also have some respect for the work of Byron Katie, though I'm unsure if she has any publications out yet. She tweets, if you follow that. Buddhism and meditation both help with this process. In fact, I should put meditation at the top of the list, but reading a book is easier. I'm sure that others on this list can chime in with their favorites too. This is obviously a personal choice and not one that any of us can really find for you. My own personal experience is that they all have their time and place. > A few months ago I would have gladly cut off an arm to have an end to my > heart arrhythmia. > Missing beats can be phlegm misting the orifices, but it usually isn't. Probably smart to look in to other explanations for that, for instance without a thick tongue coating, I probably wouldn't make an assumption of phlegm misting the Heart orifices. A thick tongue coating is defined as one where you cannot see through it to the tongue body proper. Even if you do have a thick tongue coating, it means nothing about the Heart unless you have some cognitive problems, and from the lucidity of your email, I'm guessing that it isn't too bad, if at all. However, missed beats plus anxiety or OCD or overreacting to things may suggest that there is some heat coming up from somewhere which is both getting in the way of a regular heartbeat and heating up the Heart which can generate an excessive emotional passion such that every little thing becomes HUGE!!!! > Finally to the point of this message. For instance, there's a big difference between how we'd treat something that arises in December due to holiday stressors, and due to let's say cold-dry weather. > Same request for a female friend who has been needy her whole life and on > anti-anxiety medicine for 30 years. We're all in our late 50's. > Anxiety is smack dab in the middle of Heart land. Anxiety would need to be further differentiated by its cause. For instance, not enough blood or yin fluids can cause the Heart to get dry and overheat. This will cause insomnia, dream disturbed sleep, weird dreams, anxiety or panic attacks, palpitations, arrhythmias, and a general tendency to make too big of a deal over little things. The other scenario, which requires very different treatment is when there is some heat being generated elsewhere in the body which rises (heat rises, right?) to the Heart (a " fire " element organ that is naturally sensitive to heat) where it generates the same symptoms as above, with the addition of frequent bladder infections. Our next job would be to locate the source of the heat and clear, cool, or otherwise remove it. Common locations include the Stomach, especially when your friend feels like her food just sits in there for a long long time. The (Chinese concept of the) Liver (NOT the " detox " organ) can also generate heat. This is usually stress induced or aggravated by the female menstrual cycle. Any of this sound familiar? -- , DAOM Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. http://twitter.com/algancao
