And also if they're safe for animals?

We recently had some donations made to our animal sanctuary and our clinic isn't

used to dealing w/Chinese herbs.  I've listed the following formulas that were

donated below:

--Zi Sheng Wan (Min Shan brand)

--Viola 12 Fu Zheng Pian (Seven Forests brand) 700 mg. tablets

--PA-623 Shu Jin 2 (Pro Botanixxx brand)

--Terrain Max Liver Terrain (T8)

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Peace to all,

Tamara

I believe that has a veterinary acupuncture list. You might

want to run this by them too. Perhaps they have on for pets herbs too.

Which herbs are good for animals and which are not, is not something that we

are normally exposed to in schools, and I would venture to say that whatever

information you find on line is only the unofficial observations of some

modern-day vets. There is no history of herbal medicines for " pets " (other

than beasts of burden or cash crops) since the concept of " pet " is kind of

new to begin with.

You'd think that there'd be something out there on dogs, though. They're

thought to have developed as a domesticated animal in Asia.

Also, the products that you mention, the brand names are not as important as

the ingredients in assessing their appropriateness for pets.

Viola 12 is used to tonify the qi, clear heat, resolve toxic swelling, used for

immune deficiciency disorders complicated by swellings or chronic infections,

lymph mode swelling of unknown origin, adjunct to cancer therapies. It is

intended for a course of therapy lasting a few weeks, which may be repeated as

deemed apropriate. It has zi hua di ding, huang qi, ling zhi, ci wu jia, dang

shen, nu zhen zi, kun bu, bai zhu, sheng di, xia ku cao, wu wei zi gan cao

The dosages are prescribed by age, not weight, and I do not know about safety

for animals.
