Hello all, my name is Ashley, I am 21 years old and I just went yesterday for my

first acupuncture session for migraines. I get alot of migraines, and basically

everyday I have this constant pressure on the bridge of my nose, in between my

nose, on my temples and over my eyes. It varies on the level of pain, but I

always feel the congestion. I have been to an ENT my sinuses are not clogged or

anything, but I do take a claritin D in the morning to undo the congestion. I

have been on preventative meds for he migraines, which have been working okay.

So my question is, so being that I had my first acupuncture session yesterday (

which was japanese style acupuncture) they said it will be 24 -48 hours to feel

full effects, but how exactly does the acupuncture work to help the headaches

and when should I feel better ? I have not felt better in regards to my

headache, but yesterday and today my body has felt very relaxed and I can feel

the qi energy flowing throughout my body, which from what i Have researached, is

a good thing. Also, I have a new sulfite allergy, so I told them about that too

and treated that as well, but I dont know how the acupuncture is suposed to help

with that, like is it preventative or helps with allergy reactions ? If anyone

can help fill me in on some info that would be great. I plan on going weekly or

every two weeks for treatment. Thanks.
