There are a few herbs in Chinese medicine that are made of bones or shells

and are thus high in calcium. They include: hai xiao piao (cuttlefish bone),

long gu (fossilized bone), mu li (oyster shell), shi jue ming (abalone

shell).

Personally, I'm happy to pop a few Tums as my calcium supplement. I like

their taste, like candy. :)

Don't forget the value of weight-bearing exercise. When you stress the

bones, they'll thicken up automatically.

Also, there are some acupoints that influence the bonessuch as Da Zhu (big

hammer) or UB 11. It is adjacent to the first thoracic vertabra (actually

adjacent to its lower border). This T1 bone is larger than those below and

thus gets the name of " big hammer " .

There is also an ancient theory that says something to the effect that the

Gall Bladder channel dominates bones. Not sure what the reason is for this,

though.

Qigong. Exercise is the best.

There are herbal formulas that can also likely help you.

I use a high vegetable diet, no dairy products, bone maximizer III, and

strontium. Vitamin D is even more important than calcium. This program has

improve results on a DEXA scan significantly.
