Plant Spirit Medicine is a way of coming into contact with the spirits of nature

and her seasons. It is also a way of contacting the spirits of naturally growing

flowers, herbs and trees. The workshop will involve both journeying to

individual spirit guides and animals as well as journeying to the spirits of the

wild regional herbs that have for centuries brought healing.

taoist alchemy

and five element acupuncture

november 13-15, 2009 may 8-10, 2009

Ancient Chinese texts talk of the healing Qi of each season and how those

transformations bring harmony and balance to life. The twelve energy meridians

that run through our bodies are described in terms of heavenly constellations,

magical beasts, gods and goddesses. Our inner organs were imagined to be great

palaces that nourished mind, body and spirit. Each point is itself a character

of wisdom. This workshop will explore the many beauties of Chinese Alchemy. It

will be a journey in itself, towards transforming our lives into a richness of

spirit.

Five element acupuncture is an ancient art of healing the mind, the

body and the spirit. A healer will deeply listen to the patient and also

sensitively read their 12 Chinese pulses. He or she will then balance that

person's energy and give them the acupuncture points of spirit that will help

the patient to move forward along their path in life. Each of the 365

acupuncture points are palaces of energy that are described by the Taoist tales

of their Chinese characters. By using these points we not only balance the

patient's energy but are also able to give them the wonderful healing spiritual

energy contained in many of the points. In this way life then opens for the

patient.

The ancient Chinese healers knew that when a person suffered a hard

knock during one of the five seasons, the corresponding element within that

person would be weakened. This would then show in the person's energetic colour,

sound of the voice, odour and emotion. When we support this weakness on the

corresponding acupuncture meridians of that season, the person's energy comes

back into balance again and the person returns to health.
