I would agree with john about the general rules. Some keep Fu Ling refrigerated until a week before use. doug , " " <johnkokko wrote: > > Usually fruits that can mold, like da zao > seeds that have oils that can go rancid, like tao ren, xing ren, bai zi ren > and sticky herbs with a lot of sugar that bugs like to get to.... shu di > huang, yu zhu > .... > > K. > > > > On Mon, Dec 8, 2008 at 8:53 PM, zkunedo <zkunedo wrote: > > > Hello everyone, > > > > I manage the herbal pharmacy at the school I'm attending and am trying > > to find a concise list of raw herbs that should be stored in the > > refrigerator. Guest guest
could you let the group know what you discover about this. i currently refridgerate bai zi ren, scorpian, tao ren, xing ren, shan zhu yu, da zao, long yan roe & bing lang because that's what the herbalist from whom i inherited the pharm did. refridgerating the seeds make sense, but it seems like the dried fruit could be stored in jars. i've queried the pcom email group about this issue and did not get much response, so i'd like to know what you find out. bob damone seemed to be on the herb storage, maybe he'd have something to offer. Guest guest
I refrigerate any of the herbs that tend to get buggy. I have not had any other problems with the other dried herbs.
