Guest guest
many of my aunts, friends, etc said pregnant women shouldn't eat crabs, lobsters, prawns because it is " toxic " . I wonder if there is a basis based on TCM or just an old wives tale. Marilyn
Guest guest
I had a classically-trained TCM teacher who told people with certain conditions to avoid shellfish such as you describe. The reasoning had more to do with their salty nature, I believe. Salty flavor is said to " soften hardness " in TCM. Perhaps that applies to a fetus too. I dunno, really. Guest guest
I don't know about TCM, but I don't think this to be an ol wive's tale since these crestations are like garbage disposales for the waters. Toxic seems to be a good word.
