Guest guest
Hello, This is my first posting to the list. I wasn't planning on actively writing until reading some of the archive but what you have mentioned below got me worried. I have an ongoing yeast infection problem and planning to get pregnant by end of April. Two years ago I had chronic strep infections for months and finally had tonsillectomy. During the strep infections I needed to use antibiotics so often. Since then yeast infection is a big problem for me. It seems to be under control for now especially since I have limited my sugar consumption radically and took Diflucan for 5 days, one each day. I'm wondering if repeating yeast infections mean that I have too much mercury in my body? Is there some kind of mercury test I can get done before pregnancy? I appreciate any feedback. thanks, -ilknur Chinese Traditional Medicine , " Mrs. Barley " <chosenbarley wrote: > > Howdy. In the case of someone wishing to have a baby, I'd just suggest - if I may be so bold - that she look after her overall health and not worry too much about heavy metals. Also, testing for mercury is apparently not completely reliable. I would think that a nutrient-dense, pure-as-possible diet is the best thing a person could do for ongoing yeast problems, and some Chinese medicine, too. No, I do not have any credentials to be giving out advice, so I hope that everyone with a yeast problem will do a lot of research.
Guest guest
Hi Ilknurs, You know, there are quite a few people on this list who may be able to provide you with some insight in to your question regarding mercury toxicity, however as it is asked, I am unable to provide you an answer from the TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) perspective. Mercury toxicity as such is somewhat unknown in TCM. In the processing of one particular herb prior to use (most herbs are processed on one way or another), it is suggested that zhu sha (Cinnabar) is ground in to a powder and washed with running water. Apparently this leeches out its mercury. This is a traditional style but unfortunately, the risk of mercury poisoning is great enough that even processed zhu sha is against the law in the US. I don't know how effective this water leeching really is, I only know of its existence. As for mercury toxicity as a general topic, this is one of those conditions that I believe are often self-diagnosed and over-diagnosed. It is a popular problem, especially among websites where some solution is sold. So, watch out for conflicts of interest on these things. -al.
