I am planning to go to Canada and I am going to study TCM over there.I

have searched the web for best TCM schools in Canada.But unfortunately

each school considers itself the best! I couldn't find any

rankings.Can any one in the group give me an advice about best TCM

schools in Canada.

Hello Chinese healing members,

It's just an idea, why don't you go to the source (China). That's what i'm doing

right now, after doing pediatrics for 5 years. It feels right to study in China,

and sorry i don't know about Canadian schools.

One thing I would mention, and this might not seem like the answer you

are looking, but it might do some good, so I'll say it anywho =)

 

In my experience, there really isn't a best school out of all the

schools, especially with TCM that is more of an art form. Finding a

school that teaches in a way that you grasp easily and understand what

they are saying and where they are coming from is going to be far more

important than which school has the highest GPA average and

standardized test score average. It may even be more important than

the pass rate of the school to an acupuncture board test, if you are

learning and mastering what you are looking for from that particular

school and end up passing, although it would still be something to

consider.

 

In my opinion with learning an art, you'll go farther to have someone

you really relate and learn from that is quite good, than someone who

is excellent who you have a hard time learning from. At least that is

my experience. So my suggestion in finding a college that would work

for you, is to pick at least 2 or 3 of them or however many you can

afford to go visit that are schools that you'd be serious about

attending, and go visit them and sit in on some classes, and see how

the environment feels to you, and how you feel you could learn and

relate there. It's not about going to the best school, it's about

getting the best education, or transference of knowledge from the

staff to you.

 

I just realized that you've already been to school and got your MD =P,

so you probably have already experienced this and know all about it =)

I decided to post it anyways because it might help some other people

that have been lurking and are looking for something more along these

lines.
