Guest guest
Hi Barbara, welcome to the group, their are many very knowledgeable people here to help. It's great to hear that you are making healthy changes to your life & lifestyle. However, don't give up if you don't see immediate changes, as alot of people do. It sometimes takes the body time to adapt to the changes, & some people give up just before the benefits take effect. I too have suffered from Chronic Arthritis, in both knees & my left shoulder, I have been pain & discomfort free for many years now, & the best part is that I have never taken drugs of any kind, just a total lifestyle change. It is a long story that I would be only too happy to share with you, & if you would like to read my 360 blog, please feel free as it explains everything. Oh well, I've rambled on enough, welcome again & all the best. Ian. rottiemom282 <rottiemom282 wrote: I see that there are several new posters, including myself. I'm new to TMC and have been receiving acupuncture treatments for a few months now. The conditions I'm hoping to find help with are severe knee arthritis, poor circulation causing chronic cold hands and feet primarily hot flashes associated with menopause, and overweight issues. I plan to include TMC in my healthy aging plan (I'm 57). As I read and learn, I'm able to ask questions regarding my conditions and that is primarily my reason for being in this community......to learn from others which will aid me in asking the right questions of my TMC practioner. Monday, I asked him about the main source of my issues, using my limited knowledge of the triple burners. My Dr. explained it mostly was a kidney Yin deficiency that causes menopause symptons along with the general aging processes causing the rest. When asking about nutrition therapy, he recommended fish and green vegetables should be at the top of my list of foods. In addition to the acupuncture, I have been given an herb combo called zhi bo di huang wan. I'm happy to have found this community, am always open to comments and suggestions regarding my current treatment regimen, and am delighted at the knowledge base I now have access to. Guest guest
The journey so far. Where I don't expect everyone to believe my story, it is ALL TRUE. It starts way back in early 1997, I was pretty laid back & in control of everything & then in late January my father died, fairly unexpectedly & quickly from a massive heart attack. This is a man that I had & still have, an enormous respect for, unfortunately the one thing I craved for growing up I never recieved from either parent, LOVE. Love it is the single most important thing in this whole world, without it there is nothing, don't let the sun go down without saying I love you to those special people in your life. THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT. I didn't think that my fathers death would have affected me the way that it did. My parents were not the type to show love, not even to each other, but I was, & still am, a very outwardly loving person, ( I openly love all my family & my friends, & don't mind telling them or showing them ). I was devastated when he died, ( I was adopted, not that it should mean anything, but it probably explains the personality differences ), probably because of a release of built up emotions over 30 odd years & the realisation that I would never have the chance to say the things that I craved to say. It was late June 1997 & I was emotionly very close to rock bottom, I withdrew myself from emotion & was always down & sad & yeah depressed, & when your down like that your body starts to breakdown & I contracted Arthritis in both knees & my left shoulder. It was a very painful & debilitating experience as I was & am a very active person, I played a lot of sport & my job meant that I spent a lot of time bending down & it got that bad that I had to actually push myself up because my knees couldn't do it alone. It got that bad that my wife would say that I would wake her up crying in my sleep. It is my firm belief that we meet people in our lives at just the right time for them to give us the information for us to continue on our path, ( whatever that is ), however, it is up to us to be open to the messages they have for us, otherwise we will miss them. My brother had a girlfriend for years, but we didn't speak much as they lived 3 1/2 hours away, & you can imagine my suprise when I rang her totally out of the blue, & she told me that they had broken up months ago. We started talking & she mentioned to me about Meditation & two books that she had read, " The Celestine Prophecy " by James Redfield & it's sequel " The Tenth Insight " , & that's where my internal journey really began. I started reading books about M editation from our local library & have been meditating for 40 minutes a day ever since. After about 10 months I was able to drift off fairly deep & I started to focus my energies on heeling my joints & as true as I sit at this keyboard roughly 2 years after I started Meditating I was totally pain free & today close to10 years after starting I still don't have an ache or a pain anywhere. Infact I play & coach Softball, I've been doing a Japanese Martial Art called Aikido ,( think Steven Segal ), for 3 1/2 years & shortly going for my blue belt, I've also been doing traditional Yang style Power Tai Chi for 3 1/2 years. My Meditation sessions have sometimes been very deep, past lives included, & this is the point where you lose most people who don't Meditate, mainly because they have never experienced it. But that's it for now, I will continue writting for those who can relate, & if i manage to help anyone along the way then it will have been worth it. Anyway that's enough for now, until next time, LOVE WHO YOU ARE, BECAUSE WHO YOU REALLY ARE IS BEAUTIFUL. 360 IS AN ONLINE COMMUNITY MUCH THE SAME AS MYSPACE, IT'S FREE TO SIGN UP & YOU TYPE A NAME IN & PUSH SEARCH & YOU CAN ADD PEOPLE AS FRIENDS & KEEP IN TOUCH. I'M NOT SURE IF YOU CAN LOOK AT SOMEONES PAGE WITHOUT HAVING ONE YOURSELF. ALTHOUGH, I WOULD BE ONLY TOO HAPPY TO WRITE ABOUT MY EXPERIENCES, IF ANYONE IS REALLY INTERESTED. BEST REGARDS, IAN.
