Guest guest
I need your collective wisdom again. I only have a month or so to go in my pregnancy, and my midwife says my sugar is too high and I have gestational diabetes. She is making me test 2 hrs. after each meal. So far I have done this for two days and it has been good. When I went to see her today, she checked it and it was high. She said if I can't keep it down with diet, she will have to send me to a regular OB and I will have to take insulin. So I know that the cause of high sugar is the pancreas is not making enough insulin, so I thought in addition to the diet modifications, I should try to work on that which is the root cause. I don't have a family history of this and really haven't changed much, feel fine etc. She said it is just because I am over 35. So I would appreciate any tips to get the pancreas back to where it should be or at least keep the sugar levels low to ease her mind. I don't want to end up with a reg doc in the hospital. Thanks.
