Guest guest
May I please thank those who sent notes about mold. The formula to kill the mold on surfaces is equal parts of vinegar (yes, white vinegar is fine), hydrogen peroxide, and water. Unlike with bleach, it will not come back. That is to clean off stuff which can be wetted. I had to wash the few clothes I had taken out of that old house about 10 times before they did not make me sick. I would suggest soaking for, at least, 10 minutes. Sadly, I am a bit more allergic than that. A single whiff of spores (or their outgasses) in the air and I'm down for the count. I will try taking the St. john's Wort recommended as I can no longer remember why I ever stopped takking the stuff. If a bit of food has gone off in the grocer's and I walk down the aisle, I get sick. If a roof has leaked and I enter the building (especially those acoustical tile ceilings), I get sick. Libraries are dangerous for me. I daren't enter the governmental building on Andrews, nor Holy Cross nor Imperial Point hospitals or Their out buildings .. it is simply any place which has had a leak which has been left to air dry. For most people, it takes a LOT of mold before they even sneeze. I I get sick before the stuff is even visible. I read the posts about the digestive enzymes. Papain is what is in a papaya. Bromelain is what is in a pineapple (especially the core) so if you don't like the pills, why not just blend up some fruit? A cup or so of each ought to do you. You can add in a mango for sweetness, berries for tart, and cranberries are quite good for digestion as well. A kiwi also makes such a blend sweet or, you can always add in a little honey or a soaked date. As to the betaine HCl, all it is is a chemical or plant derived acid very much like your own stomach acid. Based on your complaints, you don't seem to need any more acid. Hope this is of help. Cheers. Oh, and I do hope that Malcolm improves soon. Is he getting enough real nutrition? If he can't take a pill he needs, try using one of those plactic pill crushers from the pharmancy (no prescription needed). The powder will mix in with applesauce or jello. I usta do that for my Mom who has since died but not until she reached age 95. And please make sure Malcolm is well hydrated. Dehydration is a very common problem even amongst well people. Best wishes.
Guest guest
Geekling, Your symptoms from mold are exactly the same as what i have. I take Echinacea 500 mg capsule at noon and evening and it helps a lot. Also take turmeric powder in my drink with cayene and cinnamon. They all help. Guest guest
Geekling & Melly, Are you aware that there is a defect of the MTHFR gene that is involved in methylinization (sp?)and keeps body from detoxifying? It can be a major player in mold sickness. There are helpful supplements. This small quote is from a post on another group: The A1298C is for the inability to process Folate, B12 and detox toxins from the body. It is also linked to the inability to create the tyrosine, seretonin and meletonin cycles. Might be worth looking into.
