Guest guest
Hi, Is anyone here taking digestive enzymes? So as I posted before, I had issues in the morning feeling like there was a lot of pressure in the stomach area, but not in the stomach itself...like all around, maybe the whole digestive system...and it turned out to be bloating / gas. As some of you suggested caraway seeds...which did help eliminated the gas... and the other I tried was digestive enzymes which I purchased few days ago, not sure how good they are..So the first night I took one with supper and in the morning all was well than yesterday night, I took one with supper but I had a heavy supper and this morning I felt a tiny bit...which is a big improvement. I also took one today at lunch time and for a few hours after I felt like my throat was literally burning.. (from the start of esophagus and up).I noticed one of the ingredients was betaine HCL (I guess thats the acid?). Which makes me thing I am not lacking in the digestive acid, but perhaps one/some of the enzymes....So I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions as to which one to get, I am semi-veg... (eating fish sometimes and egg) but never meat. Ingredients of the supplement:Each tablet contains 303 mg of betaine HCl, 100 mg of papain, 10 mg of bromelain, and 10 mg of amylase. Thanks and be well :)Nik
Guest guest
Hi I can relate to your situation....I sometimes suffer with bloating/gas. I seldom take supplements because they often make it worse especially calcium. I did try taking the digestive enzymes...did not seem to work for me.... caused reflux....I have changed my diet (a lot of foods that otherwise agree with us can cause gas and bloating, especially if eaten raw. Another thing that helps me is ....I do not eat within 4 hours of bedtime. I know our systems are all a little different...but for me broccoli, cabbage and eggs cause real problems. A couple of times in the middle of the night I almost went to the ER because I felt as though I could not breathe..my stomach was real hard and distended. I had already tried every natural thing in the house....I called the nurse line and she told me to go to the all night drug store and buy GasX...she promised it would work quickly...I did exactly as she suggested and within 10 to 15 minutes I had relief. I take no meds on a daily basis but .....Now I always keep the Gas-x on hand as a last resort. Good luck to you. bobbi henderson - N S oleander soup Monday, December 14, 2009 7:07 PM Digestive enzymes suggestion please Hi, Is anyone here taking digestive enzymes? So as I posted before, I had issues in the morning feeling like there was a lot of pressure in the stomach area, but not in the stomach itself...like all around, maybe the whole digestive system...and it turned out to be bloating / gas.As some of you suggested caraway seeds...which did help eliminated the gas... and the other I tried was digestive enzymes which I purchased few days ago, not sure how good they are..So the first night I took one with supper and in the morning all was well than yesterday night, I took one with supper but I had a heavy supper and this morning I felt a tiny bit...which is a big improvement.I also took one today at lunch time and for a few hours after I felt like my throat was literally burning.. Guest guest
Hi Nik, I used to have many of the symptoms you described. I take digestive enzymes and they have helped me immensely. I also follow the 80/20 rule. Eat until you are 80% full and leave 20% room for digestion to actually take place. I also follow food combining practices making sure I avoid foods fermenting in my gut and getting that bloated feeling. What you are taking looks fine, but it may not work for everyone. I took a product similar to that initially, but didn't find it really helped me too much. I take a product called GB-3 now which is also a powerful liver detoxifier. You may want to look at the digestive enzymes Tony and Dr. Loretta recommend and see if they help you better.Eva.--- On Tue, 12/15/09, N S <overloaded wrote:N S <overloaded Digestive enzymes suggestion pleaseoleander soup Date: Tuesday, December 15, 2009, 12:07 AM Hi, Is anyone here taking digestive enzymes? So as I posted before, I had issues in the morning feeling like there was a lot of pressure in the stomach area, but not in the stomach itself...like all around, maybe the whole digestive system...and it turned out to be bloating / gas. Guest guest
Thanks for the replies, I also feel that keeping the head higher than the rest of the body greatly helps as well. (When sleeping) Actually GB-3 Seems interesting as it aids digestion, + works / restores the nervous system and helps liver, and I guess it cant be too healthy when a nervous system is functioning poorly. Guest guest
I have had great success with GasX also and buy the Walgreen substitute cheaper and it is the same!
