Guest guest
Hello all I have a question, I came back today from the dentist and he said I need to remove two of my wisdom teeth ( lower ones) he also pointed out that he can't do it cause one of the roots is right in the nerve canal... So he is sending me to see a surgeon. Has anyone had a similar experience before? Any advices are welcome as usual Thanks and be well Nik
Guest guest
NS, My advice is DON'T HAVE THEM REMOVED unless they are causing massive infection or pain. You run the risk of permanent lingual or IAN nerve damage... this is a nightmare injury with burning, searing, pain and numbing sensations in the tongue and or jaw and teeth. I suffer a permanent paresthesia/dysesthesia from an injection of anesthetic that damaged my lingual nerve. I repeat, unless this is an absolute emergency do not do this. There is one procedure where they can leave the roots in the jaw, this will not harm the nerve but can also lead to infection. Better get that second opinion. I've had impacted wisdom teeth my whole life with no problems whatsoever. Good luck. Guest guest
I agree if you can get by with out doing it. I had to have mine dug out they were impacted and rotting in my gums and I had infections and abscesses. I in turn got Bells Palsy from some nerve damage on the right side of my face but luckily it was treated and did go away but sometimes I have trouble with that side of my face. Good luck, Donna ACS > NS, > My advice is DON'T HAVE THEM REMOVED unless they are causing massive > infection or pain.
