Guest guest
hi, are you familar with Collidial Silver, if not maybe look it up in a search engine. I suffered from horrid sinus problems, I learned about CS, then I learned how to make my own. one thing that has stopped the allergies and my sinus pressure is to tilt your head over a sink, and flush or drip some CS slowly into the upper nostril.. you will feel it filling up the sinus cavity. then it will eventually drip out the lower nostril. it took me a few times to get the technique to work, but one I did it right, and fought the " I'm drowning " reflex... I have not suffered from sinus pressure! good luck, and I hope I have explained this so you can understand. S herbal remedies , " digiko_charat02 " <kathryn@p...> wrote: > Hi all. Guest guest
Kathryn, I'd try colloidal silver 50 ppm--one to two T. a day to take care of the infection, along with a large amount of Vit. C to build up your immune system. Also a good acidophilous product w/non-chlorinated water--like a tsp of powder every night away from food and beverage and brushing teeth before going to bed so the good bacteria multiply throughout your system overnight. Watch the amount of sugars, in all forms, you eat, as this would allow the bad bacteria to multiply. Guest guest
Get yourself some oregano essential oil (preferably one high in carvacrol) and do an old fashioned steam inhalation! Put 3-5 drops of the essential oil in a bowl of steaming water (be careful, you don't want it boiling, just steaming) and put a towel over your head and head over the bowl. Inhale steam for 10-15 minutes. As an added measure, ingest 5-10 garlic cloves. Do this by splitting them in half length- wise and dipping in honey...then swallow. These should do the trick! By the way, NEVER take any OTC sinus meds! They not only don't work, but they actually have " backlash " effects. You will actually have worse symptoms after taking them for a few days...then take more to compensate...then get worse...it's a vicious cycle. Not to mention the liver damage they cause or the possible heart damage or the possible stroke! Take care. Guest guest
Try a nettie pot with 1/4 tsp sea salt and 1-2 ml goldenseal tincture in tepid water -- too cold or too hot will irritate the sinuses. Run this solution through each nostril, it will wash through the sinuses and come out the other nostril -- so do it over the sink. If you are so clogged that the water won't go through wait 1/2 hour and try again. I think it took 3 tries to get anything the whole way though the first time I use it. This is what cleared my sinus infection last Spring. Rebecca sinus infectionHi all. Silver BTW is not a heavy metal like Mercury but one of the transition metals. In fact the body has a normal level of silver, it is a trace mineral in the body and something that is normally found in some foods, as well as some well known herbs and plants. Aloe vera comes to mind. For more information on the silver content of body tissues please refer to the standard lab reference The Elements by the science writer at Cambridge University John Emsley. It will tell you the typical tissue content of various body tissues for any element. Also the occurence in soil, the earth's crust, etc. Available from Amazon it is well worth the investment of $35. >I do have the > equipment to make colloidal silver. Also keep in mind Lori that ocean going ships routinely use Colloidal Silver generators to produce drinking water so there is a very long history of its use both in modern times and ancient when silver coins were kept in water storage vessels to maintain purity. The FDA has approved the use of topical silver in bandages and burn treatment dressings. If it were toxic in any form these applications would not be approved since the skin is a very absorptive organ. Also a big note to those concerned about the current warnings of a new dog flu, thought to be spreading at racetracks and kennels, silver is your number one weapon of choice to prevent this flu. I use 5 ppm in all my dogs' drinking water, especially a day before and the week after attending any dog event. Also mixing it with DMSO and spraying in eyes, ears, nose and throat for people will help prevent contracting the flu since these are the portals of entry for viruses. I use 1-2 parts DMSO to 8-9 parts CS. Nebulizing this same mixture into your lungs is also a very effective way to get it into your system and to treat any kind of lung infection or chest cold. I have nebulized chickens, dogs and horses. I like the Omron and Mystique handheld portable ultrasonic nebulizers, Google it, they are about $75 and can be used with a battery pack anywhere you go. Airplane travel is a good place to take them and use in flight to prevent contracting viral diseases from other passengers. Guest guest
Medicinally speaking, there are no " absolute " truths! What is one man's proof is one man's poison! This especially holds true in " natural " forms of medicinal remedies. There are many different interpretations of " natural " ingredients; I was very clear in my original post that I was just putting forth a caution flag, not a blanket statement of denial concerning the use of silver products! I must say that I am perplexed by the initial slam on my credibility! I have never put forth a post until I have PERSONALLY researched the subject at hand! theherbal remedies , " garnetridge " <garnetridge@g...> wrote:Absolutely UNTRUE Lori, where are you getting your information on > metabolism of Silver??? I am getting my information on the metabolism of Silver from a multitude of sources! Medical studies, scientific journals, government agencies, companies PROMOTING the use of colloidal silver, studies on the effect of enzyme inhibitors, studies on enzymes, and I also have been on the websites that you mentioned. I am sure that more than a few (including Doc Ian) people on this group can attest to the fact that I am prudent in my research BEFORE I post on a particular topic and I am very quick to question " government " and " medical " and " corporate " research because of the blanket " stamp of approval " given to most products introduced into our marketplace in this day and age. theherbal remedies , " garnetridge " <garnetridge@g...> wrote: Silver BTW is not a heavy metal like Mercury but one of the transition metals. It is retained in all body tissues (Hamilton et al., 1972a; Tripton et al.,1966). The silver content of the miocardium, aorta and pancreas tends to decrease with age (Bala et al., 1969) although the amount of silver in the body increases with age (Hill and Pillsbury, 1939). The concentration of silver in healthy human tissues from the United Kingdom was 1-9 µg/kg ash was found. The average silver contents in wet tissue of normal Americans was about 0.05 µg/kg (Tripton, 1963). herbal remedies , " garnetridge " <garnetridge@g...>wrote: Silver, or more accurately called Electrically Isolated Silver since low voltage processes produce 85% Silver ions and 15% Colloidally suspended Silver atoms, and high voltage processes more commonly used by commercial producers have the inverse ratios. I agree with this. Most people do not know the difference between colloidal silver and ionic silver. Each company that sells either version has literature on why their version of silver is better than the other. I leave that to the personal opinion of those who wish to consume the products. My current research project concerns the effect of enzymes on the human body and also the effect of enzyme inhibitors on the absorption of nutrients from food. I am seeing, firsthand, the devastating medical conditions that are brought on by compromised digestive systems, a direct correlation being the lack of enzymes in the typical SAD (Standard American Diet.)In its ionic form, silver is highly reactive with other elements which means it will readily combine to form compounds. Ionic silver is known to be an enzyme inhibitor. Do I have concrete proof that consuming silver products will affect compromised digestive systems? As of this date, no, but I am continuing my research and since I have found NO LONG TERM HUMAN STUDIES on the safety of silver consumption I will recommend, to people who ask, to use caution! And also: As to the action of silver in the body, while there may be some catalytic action, silver ions will adhere to the sulphydral groups on bacterial cell walls and thus " compromise the action of enzymes " and so on, silver has also been found bonded to the DNA and RNA of bacterial cells, having presumably disrupted the cell wall enough to gain entry. Interestingly, it has also been found that if one removes the silver bonded to the cell wall of bacteria, that the bacteria is able to revive. A great resource for information on silver is: http://www.purestcolloids.com/ionic.htm For a brief but thorough description of the difference between " colloidal " silver and " ionic " silver. and the differing viewpoint at: www.health2us.com/transport.htm For the biologic silver ion transport. I know of the historical uses of silver. Maritime use has been well documented as well as the topical use in burn treatment. I never denied these uses were in force! herbal remedies , " garnetridge " <garnetridge@g...> wrote: I know this " fact " and take terrible exception to the fact that I was trying to confer anything other that the truth! Guest guest
Lynn, A sinus infection is a fungal infection. Doctor antibiotics are almost fungus-based, so they are likely to worsen the problem. What you need are natural antifungals, such as burdock root, pau d'arco, red clover, turmeric, red raspberry, barberry, elecampane and gingko. Fungus is attracted to heavy metals such as mercury, so you also need a heavy metal detox - take cilantro leaf (from the coriander plant) and chlorella to get rid of mercury. Also, take Lugol's iodine or Iodoral. John from Israel , " Lynn Koiner " <koiner wrote: > > After going to 2 dentists (one only does rott canals), they feel that I have a terrible sinus infection. Guest guest
Hi, I used to get sinus infections a lot more - some preventive measures would be to lower the candida in your body - good pro & prebiotics will help that. Also if you do not use a Neti pot or bottle, get one and flush the sinus' as often as you think they need it - and right now they need it a lot. Also Apple Cider Vinegar helps calm down mucus, thins it out which is key in getting rid of a sinus infection - you should drink it through the day - requires about 2 tablespoons or more - you can mix it with grape juice - makes it taste a bit like a sour wine.....some people add honey to it - I often to help with a sore throat mix honey and the vinegar 50/50 and just take a spoon at a time. If and when I get one I take Oil Of Oregano capsuls - do not get the stuff with leaves and roots, unless you want a really good intestinal cleanout!!! Lol I take the OOO 4 times a day I also usually back it up with Kold Kare which also helps build the immune system and can help dry up sinus' naturally. When I get a sinus headache I take Kali Bri or Silica and within 20 min. the headache is gone. I looked up for sinus infection and Kali Led was mentioned too. Hope this helps - I haven't had to take anti-biotics for years. I also tried recently, and maybe I did not do it correctly, but had read about using peroxide in your neti pot - well again maybe I put too much in - but later in the day I thought I would die - my nasal passages were so sore.....so if anyone has had success with that, would you tell me in what ratio of water you used it - and did you add it to the saline solution??? Guest guest
Thank you Ted, Maria and everyone else who gave me advice. I have never had a sinus infection in my long life:-) You can tell I am feeling better. I don't think I have ever had an ear infection. I had a cold last week and on Friday I staryted to feel bad. I came home from work and went to bed where I stayed until Sunday morning. The sinus infection escalated. I used everything I could think of: silver, clay, can't remember what else, but that helped. On Sunday I thought I was home free and planned to work today; that's how good I felt yesterday. I went to bed, slept briefly and woke up with the sinus infection having moved to the other side. (Originally, it was just one side) and my ear was also infected. I was in SO much pain and I was freaking out, alone in a country where I don't speak the language. Now we do have a health unit at the Consulate staffed with American's but on the weekend, they would havej ust told me to go to the hospital. I wasn't doing that beside I was in too much pain. I posted on this site and sweet Maria caught it right away, now I realize we have some way different time zones. I went to google and typed in sinus infection, ear infection N alternative car,e I got all kinds of info. What I ended up doing. Oh! first I did the oil pulling twice (every couple of hours) and that helped a lot, then I put peroxide in my ear ...a couple of drops. I was a little scared of putting anything in my ear, but when you are in that kind of pain, you will try anything. It worked. I did it a couple of times at intervals. I now am not in pain, though of course it is not cleared completely, and my ear sounds like a tunnel. I hope that corrects before tomorrow. That was the most horrific pain, and these things always happen: in the night and hubby gone, I think he plans it that way:-) thanks to all and I hope tomorrow I will be able to post that I have a full recovery. Ted I am definitely checking out that website and hubby (also Ted) will be home next week and I will have him make that for me. I have suffered so much pain in my life I need one to carry with me. :-) Barbara N Germany--- On Mon, 11/30/09, TED SANFORD <tedsanford wrote: TED SANFORD <tedsanfordRe: sinus infectionoleander soup Date: Monday, November 30, 2009, 8:05 AM Barbara, check out microelectricitygermkiller . Guest guest
Barbara, I read that a couple of drops of povodone iodone (Betadine) in the ear will clear up an ear infection a lot better than antibiotics. Also, chewing raw garlic (if you can't chew it, do what I do....swallow chunks of cut garlic!). Raw garlic took care of an abscessed tooth for my husband. It got the swelling and infection down in 2 days, AND he's not had any trouble with the tooth since...this was over a year ago. Bless your heart and get well soon. Shara barbara elenniss <bntelenniss oleander soup Sun, Nov 29, 2009 11:18 pm sinus infection Hi All, I did oil pulling which helped a lot with the sinus', now it is just the earache. I put some olive oil in the ear with a qtip, just a tad, barely warm, and let it drop off the qtip so i wasn't putting anything in my ear. Anyway so far that has not helped. Can Anyone help with an earache. I am doing all kinds of online searches. thanks, barbara n germany
Guest guest
Shara, Thanks, I don't have any kind of Iodine, but I have garlic. I can eat garlic raw anytime, love it, but I gotta tell you the garlic I just had burned my mouth like it was going to take the skin off. I did get a couple of pieces down using avacoda. That was the hottest garlic I have ever had. LOL But is sure opened my sinuses. thanks, barbara--- On Mon, 11/30/09, showard208 <showard208 wrote: showard208 <showard208Re: sinus infectionoleander soup Date: Monday, November 30, 2009, 11:58 AM Barbara,I read that a couple of drops of povodone iodone (Betadine) in the ear will clear up an ear infection a lot better than antibiotics. Guest guest
Barbara, Bless your heart! I love garlic too, but I can't seem to chew it raw. Oh, another thing, warm, homemade, vegetable soup with lots of black pepper and cayenne pepper will also open your sinuses! The garlic should help with your ear infection, as it's a wonderful, natural antibiotic. We actually eat several cloves a day, cut into swallowable chunks, just for general health. We don't chew them, because we want them to go all the way through our digestive system, hopefully spreading their wonderful healing properties all the way through, lol. If you can get your hands on the povodone iodine (you should be able to get it at your local pharmacy or WalMart if there's one near you), give it a try. Two to three drops in the problem ear and let it sit until it gets warm. One thing, though, it will stain, so don't lie on your good white sheets or your pretty cream-colored couch to apply it, lol. Guest guest
Hello, regarding garlic, as we all know? It has health qualities. However common sense must be the main consideration when using any food, herb, or supplement. Always start slowly and in small quanties. Garlic needs to sit for at least 15 minutes after chopping, grading, etc. to receive the full benefits it can give. As for the iodine issue why not get some sea vegetables such as nori, wakamii or or any others. Guest guest
I have heard that you must use garlic within the first 15 minutes or it is totally useless. Guest guest
Barbara,Bless your heart. If you are still having sinus problems spray the colloidal silver in your nose. Also put colloidal silver drops in your ears. Keep in mind, depending on the infection it may take a couple of days to work, but it will most definitely get rid of any infection.I hope you feel better soon.Hugs, oleander soup , barbara elenniss <bntelenniss wrote:>> > > Hi All,> > I did oil pulling which helped a lot with the sinus', now it is just the earache.
