Hello Group,

I’m gonna seem to be whimping out

here, and I am in a way – but, I am I big believer in “not reinventing the

wheel,†so I’m calling on your collective wisdom and experience to provide an

answer to this question: Should we start my Dad on the scaled back part of the S/OPC

protocol that seems doable at this time?

Quickie background: Dad has a stomach/gastric/gastroesophageal

junction cancer. It is advanced. It was advanced when it was discover early

last year. He has had numerous rounds of

chemo, most recently IV Taxotere and oral Xeloda, which he had to stop just

this week because it was just beating him down.

That happens with sustained poisoning to one’s body. He also had a round of radiation last fall.

He has lost more and more weight over

the last 2-3 months, probably merits being called â€wasting†– though I think

that term may mean something specific as regards cancer patients, and I’m

nearly 100% certain it is a simple lack of calories in Dad’s case. Oddly enough, as I was writing this, a nurse

just called with blood work results and pretty much confirmed this – “not

enough food.â€

He has a j-tube for supplemental

nutrition, but we can’t keep him on it, LOL.

He gets a few cans of supplement in him, starts feeling a little better,

and then he’s up and about messing around till he weakens again. He was always so illness-free and strong, and

he still is a strong man to have survived the narrow minded poison

mongers. However, a good patient this

does not make.

In the suggested protocol document, Marc

Swanepoel, PhD, writes -

To maximize the effectiveness of the

S/OPC I also suggest the protocol below (for cancer, HIV/AIDS, Hep C, Lupus,

ALS and neurological problems). The 5 most important items are (a) S/OPC (b)

NAC © Curcumin (d) liver cleanse and (e) try to cut out animal proteins.

Right now, all things considered, we

can get 3 of those 5: the S/OPC; the NAC; and the curcumin. I have them all here, right now. Should we begin? That may sound like a stupid question, but we've grown uncertain under the stress and fatigue, and there are no alternative practitioners or consultants any where near. But there is the internet ... and you folks!

Things to consider: We have been

giving Dad a large 10-12 gram dose per day of very high quality coriolus

versicolor extract obtained directly from the producer in Asia, a producer

which I can’t name as they usually only provide to supplement companies here in

the US who cap it and sell by the bottle.

Coriolus versicolor has been shown to be effective against gastric

cancer. We also been using about 4 grams

of very pure and highly-refined or “micronized†resveratrol, which has all

kinds of beneficial properties, including fighting cancers and boosting the

immune system. These two things go

through the j-tube.

So, tell me, do you think or feel or

would you yourself add the S/OPC, NAC, and curcumin? We will make the final decision, or really I

will, as I’m the “researcher†of our very small and very tired “team.†What doses should we begin at and/or work up

to? What signs of allergies and/or interactions

should we watch for? All this will go in

the j-tube for now, so is that a factor in things like adjusting dosages to

account for increased absorption? (J-tube

administration has been a big plus in the case of the resveratrol with its poor

bioavailability. Curcumin would probably

be more effective by j-tube I would think … or hope).

Anything at all you can add will be a

blessing, just your thoughts from what you’ve learned and experienced. Thanks so, so much.

Jeff
