What protein choices since no meat?

Hi

 

I know we're not supposed to eat meat,

Beside buckwheat(which i tried with open mind and

got slightly nauseus),

what other foods can we eat to get our main

protein " dose " at meals?

Raw soaked nuts and seeds, soaked chia seeds, raw almond butter or any other raw nut butter, raw eggs, spirulina and greens. Look at apes in the wild. They have muscles and are extremely strong. They eat almost all plants. A GREAT book to answer your protein question is "Green For Life" by Victoria Boutenko. It's a very easy read and VERY eye opening. She is awesome. Plus in my opinion this book is essential for all vegans and anyone else wanting to be healthier. I rented it from the library since I don't have much money. Also in answer to your question about black seed oil just do a Google search. I did one a week ago for black seed oil and lots of great info showed up. Quinoa is tasty and many things can be added to it, it is like a rice, but very high in protein. You make it like rice too, it is yummy!

Quiona is quite good and I mix it with lots of different things, Spagahetti sauce, tahini, or just nothing. I acutally like it and strangly enough so do my grandchildred.

Where would one get raw nuts to soak. I read a lot about them, but don't know where to get them.

 

Also, is black cumin, the same as black seed, when I was in Istanbul I went to their spice market and bought lots of spices and teas. I found a bottle of black cumin in my spice shelf , and wondered what I would ever use that for and I am still not sure.

Another good source is hemp seed powder, IHerb has it for a decent price. It is

better than whey powder, because you never know where the source milk came from.

One or both carry chia, raw nuts.  Manitoba Harvest sells a lot of good hemp products.  Try here:http://www.alentour.qc.ca/en-Accueil.htmGood luck

Bee pollen is a complete food and has a good amount of protein. This is all

natural - good bee pollen is not hard like what you find in freezer/refrigerator

section of supermarkets. It should be soft, sweet not chalk tasting. Better to

buy at farmers' markets.
