Guest guest
I bought 5 Oleanders on ebay and couldn't make a very big batch, so ended up with only a cup or less of final soup. The problem I'm having is the filtration, it doesn't want to go through the paper towels or coffee filters. And I didn't scrub the coffee filter holder which was used several months ago by guests, and the soup picked up some dark brown color. Is this harmful? I'm on my way by train to visit my DD who had a mastectomy and chemo last year and just had surgery to begin restoration, so I was doing this while staying up late trying to get ready to go. I feel bad about DH trying the soup when I won't be around. The good news is that in spite of his not remembering to take the OPC all the time the 2 bumps on the back of his skull feel noticeably smaller! Encouraging. Guest guest
Only one cup, even when mixed 50-50 with vodka or apple cider vinegar? Those must have been some small plants! Remember, you want to place the plant material in a large pot and then cover it till about an inch of water is above the top of the plant material and then boil at a slow boil for 4 hours, adding water as need be, then remove all the debris with a screen, and continue boiling as directed and end up with about 30% of the original volume of water you used, to which you add an equal amount of vodka or apple cider vinegar after you have strained it through several layers of coffee filters. You can remove the top filter and replace a fresh one on the bottom from time to time to help make the filtering go a bit faster, but it does take time and the filtration is essential to remove some of the large molecule organic compounds which might lead to initial side effects, particularly nausea and diarrhea (though that should pass in time). It is good to hear that the bumps are growing smaller. I hope you are also using the inositol/IP6 and colloidal silver to help dissolve them. All the best, oleander soup , "hemnancy" <hemnancy wrote:>> I bought 5 Oleanders on ebay and couldn't make a very big batch, so ended up with only a cup or less of final soup. Tony- One plant is bigger, 4 are rather small still. I could have cut more leaves off but didn't want to set them back too far. But since fall is here I don't know if they will put on much growth during the winter indoors here, maybe I can try to put them under some lights. The 3rd coffee filtering went very slow, left several hours overnight, but when I poured the soup into the 4th filter it suddenly went very fast, I don't know why. I guess I should have cut more leaves and made a larger batch since it will run out very soon, but maybe I will just order more ready-made. I am actually in Calif. visiting now, so I could try to locate some clean oleander and try to take some back with me, perhaps that should be the plan.... I am traveling by train so it would have to be sitting in a bag for 24 hrs. Nancy
