Guest guest
A nice tea with dandelion and burdock is all you'll really need. Make up a gallon and drink it over a few days...I recommend the book Healing Wise by Susun Weed. Good stuff and very helpful. Guest guest
Would you use the roots or the leaves? And I guess my question applies to both herbs! Guest guest
Moderator's Note: Interesting, it is actually anger that associates with the liver. http://www.unsolvedmysteries.com/usm499117.html But I also know from personal experience that cleanses can be intense times of cleaning house- literally and otherwise. What type of cleanse are you doing? How long have you been doing it? How much longer do you have? Rest up, stay in a joyful/thankful space- even if the occassional emotional bump comes around and know this too shall pass.. But if you need a little strenghtening, consider researching homeopathic ignatia and/or natrum mur. Enjoy, DesertSkyNM -------- Mainly, coming to tears easily even over an advertisement that plucks at the heartstrings, if you know what I mean. There's no anger involved, just sentimentality and some feelings of sadness (and I don't have anything to feel sad about). My life at this time is going well, I'm healthy and content. Hope this answers your question. > > Moderator's Note: I would be curious to know the nature of the emotions coming up.. There is a link between the liver and certain emotions but I would rather you say what your experiencing before I cloud the issue with more details. > DesertSkyNM > ----------- > > I have been on a liver cleanse for a few days now and the last couple > of days have been quite emotional. Guest guest
Perhaps it is hormonal then and not the cleanse. Thanks for the link, it offers a lot of good information which I will be referring to in the future. Thanks for the advice. > > Moderator's Note: > > Interesting, it is actually anger that associates with the liver. http://www.unsolvedmysteries.com/usm499117.html > > But I also know from personal experience that cleanses can be intense times of cleaning house- literally and otherwise. > > What type of cleanse are you doing? Guest guest
I would add to this that sometimes depression/weepiness comes out too - I have had acupuncture done and the practitioner focussed on the liver meridian. I went from being very angry and having terrible outbursts to terribly depressed at times. She told me that the depression was because I was trying to suppress the anger - not giving myself permission to be angry. So in short - yes - a liver cleanse can also churn up emotions. All the best, Sharon
Guest guest
Hi there, I live in the UK too - and welcome to the forum. First for a liver cleanse - you need to be eating a healthy wholefood diet - whole grains (brown rice), lots of fresh fruit and veg, fresh juices, low fat (except Omega 3 fatty acids either from fatty fish like salmon and mackerel or from supplements). Cut out alcohol, caffeine, and sugar. Cut out drugs if possible (I mean mainly over the counter stuff that you might take like paracetamol, aspirin, etc. - don't stop your prescription drugs obviously). Lots of filtered water. Then I would recommend taking some supplements: min. of 500mg of magnesium per day, milk thistle (with dandelion if possible), and lecithin (phosphatidyl choline). Coffee enemas are also helpful. Please note that if your bowel is in a bad state (i.e. chronic constipation), then a liver cleanse will only succeed in getting toxins out of tissues to circulate through the body again. The bowel needs to be working well too for the toxins to be excreted out of the body. So you may need to think about adding support to the bowel for a few weeks at least before tackling liver cleanse. Let me know if you need more details of that. Not to try to push specific products - you can use whichever ones you prefer. But these are the ones I use: magnesium based liver formula from Archturus Healtlink (they're in Scotland) containing choline and inositol: http://www.archturus.co.uk/store/catalog/1/365/Archturus-Unique-Formulations/CHO\ LINE-INOSITOL-FORMULA-1-180-Caps I get a milk thistle with dandelion supplement from NutriLtd (Milk Thistle 200 - http://www.nutri-online1.co.uk/Patients/Products/Herbals/tabid/654/Default.aspx) and organic coffee for enemas from The Nutri Centre: http://www.nutricentre.com/ If you need enema kits and instructions for doing a coffee enema: http://www.wholisticresearch.com/info/artshow.php3?artid=369 I hope that helps - please feel free to email me if you want. Guest guest
Hi, In my experience, an effective liver cleanse (Dr. Hulda Clarke) goes as follows: LIVER CLEANSE Ingredients : 4 tablespoons of oral Epsom salts 1 tablespoon Vitamin C powder ½ cup virgin olive oil 1 large fresh grapefruit 2 glass jars with lids 16 oz. apple juice + beet juice Procedure : First day: 1. 9:00 am: Eat a breakfast of cooked porridge, no milk or butter; 8 ounces apple juice + beet juice; baked potato, no butter 2. 2:00 pm: Mix 4 tablespoons of oral Epsom salts and 1 Tbsp of Vitamin C powder in 3 cups of cold water in one jar, and refrigerate 3. 3:00 pm: Have an enema 4. 6:00 pm: Drink ¾ cup of the cold Epsom salts 5. 8:00 pm: Drink ¾ cup Epsom salts 6. 9:45 pm: Pour ½ cup olive oil into the second jar; squeeze out ½ cup grapefruit juice and add to the olive oil. Close the jar lid and shake hard until watery. 7. 10:00 pm:Drink the potion. Lie down immediately. Lie still on your back and go to sleep. Second day: 1. 9:00 am : Drink ¾ cup Epsom salts. Go back to bed. 2. 11:00 am : Drink ¾ cup Epsom salts. Go back to bed. 3. 1:00 pm : Get up and drink 8 ounces apple + beet juice. 4. 2:00 pm : Eat a banana or an orange 5. 6:00 pm : Eat a light supper of salad and fruit; no meat Many stones will be seen in the toilet upon the first bowel movement after a liver cleanse. It may take several cleanses over a period of months to clear all of them out from the liver. Following a liver cleanse, it is useful to have several coffee enemas to pull further toxins that are stored in the liver. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, you may wish to repeat this cleanse seven times at two-week intervals and then repeat the cleanse in the fall. Guest guest
When doing the liver cleanse, should I stop all supplements, or continue as normal? Also, are there any " side effects " I should be prepared for?
Guest guest
Continue your supplements as normal. You really should not have any unpleasant side effects. Just follow the instructions and try and make your day 4 on a Saturday or on a day that you will be home, as you will need to stay close to the bathroom. Let us know how you do. oleander soup , "sandrews.cares" <siricspp wrote:>> When doing the liver cleanse, should I stop all supplements, or continue as normal?
