Guest guest
Please anyone with some good facts on the issue of what is good to eat please speak up as I'm sure others on here could also use some help in this area. I know in our home we have made a lot of healthy changes over the past 6 years or so (long before my cancer diagnosis), but there are some other areas we could still clean up. Figuring out what foods to eat and what to avoid has been like going through a huge maze, very frustrating. Personally I can't take the taste of fish, crab, lobster or anything else that came out of the ocean, I gag. Thank you so much Daniel! I have been avoiding even the fruits to avoid the sugars, and that has made eating more difficult. I know fruit is good and full of wonderful nutrients but did not want to be feeding the cancer any sugar. I have been on a regimine which includes a lot of organic carrot juice and wheat grass several times a day (all day long), plus I'm using some barley grass too, so nutrients should not be an issue. About the starches, that's pretty much what I was thinking, but people are saying only eat raw food, (I keep seeing this everywhere) so this had me wondering why not some good whole wheat and grain bread, or pastas or even oatmeal etc. Like I said I've had a real hard time keeping myself fed while trying to avoid all these things. I knew there had to be a better way to eat healthy and yet not feel hungry all the time. I can't ignore the fact that even in biblical times they cooked breads and soups and even meats to eat. Yes I know things are not clean now like they were back then, but I think God intended for us to eat whole grain breads and soups and meat. To put it simply I'm not a vegetarian, it's just feels wrong to me. Anyway what I'm saying here is I feel the need to have some cooked, warm foods in my diet, and find it hard to believe that everything cooked is acid or bad for me. I've been on a crash course, wishing I had more knowledge on how & what to eat. I know soy is a terrible thing for our health, and am avoiding milk products because 1) I'm allergic (lactose intolerant) 2) I've heard the milk protein CASEIN is like fertilizer for cancer. Like I said wish I was a bit more of a scientist, with the where-with-all to figure this stuff out for myself. I'm currently looking into whey protein, (which I'm not allergic to, I'm allergic to milk sugars), I'm trying to make sure it does not contain the protein casein. I'm looking for the facts here, trying to either confirm or deny the statement made that " casein is like fertilizer to cancer " . Part of my problem with milk is that here in NV. they only sell dead milk (pasturized and homoginized), raw milk products are outlawed, and are price prohibitive to get the raw products shipped in from other states. Thanks again for all your input on this topic, I have found it helpful and am sure there are others here lurking that may be looking for more good information on how to eat. Now I know, I can eat my good homemade bread, and healthy carbs which is a big step towards being able to eat some thing's with my husband. I have long adhered to the motto, " the whiter the bread the quicker your dead " . I know white flour products are deadly, That's why the don't eat any cooked foods thing bothered me so much, that statement throws out a lot of healthy foods. I also use the pesticide index as a guide when shopping for produce. I have printed it up and keep a copy in my purse and one in my wallet at all times. I try hard to only buy organic on those items listed in the dirty dozen, and save money buying regular produce that is on the clean 15 end of that chart. I find it very helpful for not spending more money where organic is not much different than non-organic, and helping me to not purchase some very toxic produce. Any constructive advice is much appreciated!
