My ex-sister in law had breast cancer. She did not want radiation, as the doctor had ordered. Her husband said he would cancel the insurance if she didn't comply with the doctor. Obviously, people put misplaced trust in doctors.

 

Your friend has to take matters completely in his hands. Doing something for someone else is never a good idea to begin with. Tell him to stick up for himself and follow his heart.
