Can this supplement cure cancers?

By Al Sears MD.CoQ10 is the one supplement I take every day, without fail.New evidence of an even greater benefit is pouring in. And over the next couple of weeks, I'll tell you about some of the amazing discoveries happening in CoQ10 research.CoQ10 is a powerful cancer fighter.Researchers in Tokyo gave rats a carcinogen that promotes colon cancer. The rats were divided into three groups. One group was fed a regular diet. The second group got a low dose of CoQ10. The third got a medium dose. The results were amazing. Both of the groups that received CoQ10 had reductions in abnormal crypts (an early sign of colon cancer) of up to 77%. Ultimately, the results of this study suggested that CoQ10 held cancer in check even when exposed to this carcinogen.1Another study done at the University of Texas at Austin documented 10 cases of cancer patients who unexpectedly survived when treated with CoQ10.2It works by blocking the free radicals that can ultimately damage the DNA in your cells. It also helps re-energize the immune system cells that get suppressed by cancer. It restores their ability to fight back and attack the cancer cells.Researchers in Denmark studied a group of breast cancer patients. They gave them CoQ10, plus a combination of other antioxidants and essential-fatty acids. The result? The entire group had a partial remission of the cancer. But here's where things get very interesting…Two of the patients received larger doses of CoQ10 (390 mg). Their tumors disappeared. Here's what the researchers said regarding one of the patients:"After three months, the patient was in excellent clinical condition and there was no residual tumor tissue."3Remarkable isn't it?Yet CoQ10 is one of the most overlooked nutrients. The government doesn't even have a recommended daily intake for it. And in my practice, I've found that most of my new patients are deficient. The only natural source of CoQ10 is red meat, especially organ meat. But today's commercially-raised, grain-fed beef is a poor source.Even worse, many popular drugs – especially cholesterol-lowering drugs like statins – cause your levels of CoQ10 to plunge. To Your Good Health,Al Sears, MD1 Sakano K, Takahashi M, et al. hi tony!the brainwashing done by big pharma really gets in the way of people undersanding such findings. the poisonous nature of the drugs they prescribe, the ridiculously low daily recommendations for vitamins and minerals and the general fear instilled in the public that health is some scientific mystery that they are incapable of comprehending. balogne. my point is that the dose must be high enough to be effective. as with most of the things i recommend, the dose is "enough to get the desired effect."

Tony,

500mg of CoQ10 daily is a good theraputic dose for cancer. For folks who are over age 50, Ubequinol is more easily absorbed. It should be taken with a fat of some sort to enhance absorption. From what I've read, this dose was successful 100% of the time in ridding the body of cancer. Interesting...

Good article; however, it

makes me scratch my head and not because of a real “itch.” J

We used therapeutic dosages of CoQ10 for a while with clients and saw

absolutely nothing remarkable.

Read between the lines of this article -

“held in check”; “unexpectedly survived” (what

does that mean?); “partial remission”. The Denmark breast cancer patients were

also given other supplements so it would be a huge stretch to suggest that the

remission was caused by CoQ10. And

how many were in the Denmark breast cancer group to begin with? – that is

important information. Too many

variables in order to even suggest that CoQ10 can cure anything. There is no one supplement that cures

cancer.

It also doesn’t say if any of these people were using conventional

treatment. My bet is that they

were.

I’m not saying that it’s an unworthy supplement because it is

absolutely very useful especially for those who choose to take Statin drugs;

but I am saying it does not cure cancer. J

Dr. Loretta,

Curious if you used Ubiquinol produced by Kaneka (Kaneka QH) the new enhanced bioactive Co Q-10 with your patients. The literature would lead one to believe CoQ-10 products that use this form are more absorbable and may be more effective.

My father has been taking 500mg of CoQ10 daily for more than 10 years. It's one

of my Mum's pet supplements - I have to take it when she stays with me also :-).

A couple of years ago, my father developed a particularly horrific tumor in

front of his brain, which constantly flooded his nose with blood, matter &

tissue. It was a couple of months before they figured out what was wrong, and he

was rushed into immediate surgery. At that stage, he apparently had only about

10 days to live - it was extremely aggressive.

So the CoQ10 was neither preventative or cure in that instance.

I think this is a case of too much being expected of a very good

supplement. The average American diet is lacking in so many vitamins,

minerals, enzymes, etc, that there are many things we need to

supplement with. The ideal diet would be organic veggies grown at

home with good quality water, along with organically raised meat, all

eaten as raw as possible. Short of that we must resort to a large

number of supplements of various kinds in order to supply all the

nutrients we need. Any one of them alone won't prevent illness, but

hopefully if we research it well, all of them together will keep us

healthy or restore health for those of us with " terminal " illness.

Many of the supplements are synthetic and do more harm than good, so

lots of investigation is necessary to determine the appropriate

regimen. Personally, I switch mine up a bit from time to time, and

sometimes run out of things, but typically I take a handful of sups 3

times a day.
