Yes, I saw that before and checked out the report - it really does exist on a US Gov website.

Personally, I would rather have a shortage of oil and a conversion to non polluting solar, wind, geothermal, etc. We in the US and our culture of bigger, better, more, more, more have almost polluted ourselves off the planet, and now we have the spectre of China and other developing countries multiplying the toxic burden.

I'm not advocating a return to the stone age, but we really could all be much happier and healthier with a simpler lifestyle. Ah well, don't get me started!

All the best,

Sorry, but every story has to have a scapegoat. Those bad, bad

environmentalists!

I don't buy it. If the real powers that be, the Bilderbergers and all

wanted to develop the oil, they wouldn't let any number of

environmentalists stop them. It doesn't fit into their master plan!

For the record, I'm not one for fear-mongering, but I do like to educate myself!

If you do a web search for the Bakken oil field what you will learn is that this

is shale oil, which means it can't just be pumped out of the ground as it is

soaked up in shale, a porous sandstone. This sort of oil is very expensive and

energy intensive to extract and any oil thus acquired would be very expensive.

Oil companies won't consider going after it until the price of oil exceeds their

cost of extraction. As long as cheaper to get stuff is available this will stay

in the ground.
