Guest guest
Hi, my name is Llewelyn and I live in Cape Town South Africa with my wife, Sarah, and our two gorgeous children, Ruby, 6,and Jude, 4. I'm a 38 year old filmmaker and after two very sudden headaches 4 weeks ago was diagnosed with a brain tumour which was surgically removed on the 24th of April. The histology revealed a combination of a grade IV Astrocytoma and Oligodendraglyoma which seem to fall into a general classification termed glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). The tumour was located behind my right eye in my right temporal lobe which it turns out is a very flexible part of the brain because I'd be hard-pressed to say what if anything is different after the surgery. I've been home for almost 3 weeks and feel great. Because of the location of the tumour my neurosurgeon was able to remove the whole tumour. I begin Radation and Chemo (Temozolomide) tomorrow for 6 weeks. After researching all the alternatives it's been a tough call to do the Radiation/Chemo in the light of all the views on the pro's and con's. I've just purchased Tony's book and am probably going to be starting a combination of his regimen ASAP as adapted by Dr Marc Swanepoel who supplies SutherlandiaOPC which I'm thrilled is made here in South Africa. I look forwarding to contributing to this group and also receiving feedback from yourselves. regards Llewelyn
