Guest guest
Jack, I'm sending this to you directly, not just the group, since you seem to be around more to answer. But please, anyone with suggestions? I have a horrible headache now. I had it yesterday but only as a bit of a nagging feeling. This morning, it hurt a bit more but I thought as I moved about, it would go away. I haven't had a headache this bad for many months. Not sure why, but painkillers only numb this sort of headache & when the meds wear off, the pain's back, sometimes worse. I've been under some mental-emotional stress with my mom. And yesterday, helping her with her garage sale, the food available was more yang & no real yin foods. Don't know if that affected my headache too. BTW, I tend to have (best way I know to explain it - terms might not be correct), too little Kidney yin giving rise to Liver yang (I think that's how it was explained) & heat rising to the head area. One TCM doctor said it had a lot to do with the heat rising to my head that I got headaches. Darn! I feel cheerful & my mood is good but the pain is horrible. My head feels thick (like lots of pressure inside - something stuffing or packing too tight inside a small space) but the pain thumps with each heart beat & pain over the temples & eyebrow area is the worse. Neck & jaw muscles contract making everything very tight & rigid. Massaging temple area & points over eyebrows & inside eyebrows (at top bridge of nose) doesn't help & actually makes it feel worse. Can anyone tell me what I could do to get some relief tonight? I could see my TCM doc on Monday for treatment but not til then. This hurts like h*ll - what I used to call my 'killer headaches' - pretty sure not a migraine but mine don't always fit the classic pic. Guest guest
This maybe a very dumb suggestion. Did you try to massage LI 4 ? to find this point. stick your thumb to the hand. A bump forms between the hand and the thumb (on the back side of the hand) It is at the top of the bump between the hand and the thumb. Massage each side between the thumb and the Index of the other hand. If the point is tender, it will probably help Frederic Judy Wilkins wrote: > > Jack, I'm sending this to you directly, not just the group, since you > seem to > be around more to answer. Guest guest
Hi Judy, Try massaging the sholders and neck, concentrate on the two GB points: first 21 then 20(deeply on this one), also grasp each wrist with the four fingers of the opposite hand and press on the outward side, on all the points maintain pressure for at least two minutes. Massage also the hairline, circularly, from one ear to the other. all the best.
