Guest guest
Victoria, I've read about the energy flow & activity for the different times of day before but have absolutely no idea how it applies or how I can apply it for me. I have a chart that gives these times too. If I wish to apply acupressure to certain area, say for the Kidney, is it best to do so just before 5-7 PM or is that peak time used in another way? Does the fact that almost everyday, I feel a huge wave of sleepiness (not tiredness but the strong desire to close my eyes & sleep) around 1-3 PM (Small Intestine activity peak) have any significance? I know that's also the average time those who feel a need for a nap get sleepy too. From around 7-11 PM, I tend to feel at my most alert & couldn't sleep then even if I was very tired. Those times are when Pericardium & Triple Burner are most active. Does that signify anything too? Thank you for all your kind comments, Victoria, on me having a good grasp of TCM theory even if I don't know many facts yet. I still feel so ignorant & unknowledgeable about TCM. My youngest son is an instructor (not yet a full fledged sensei) in Meibukan Goju-ryu karate & he said if you ask anyone trained in karate how good they are, the honest ones will say they have a black belt & not even mention what degree. They realise that they're not good at it as far as they're concerned as there will always be so much more to learn. Even those at 60 are still learning. I feel the same about being a gardener-horticulturalist. Others may feel I'm very good in my field but all I'm aware of is the order of magnitude of things to still learn compared to what I now know. But to compare TCM to gardening, I don't even know how to " prepare the soil " in TCM. I'm so woefully ignorant still. But I'm encouraged with your statement, Victoria, that things will slowly start to fall into place if one only keeps learning & be patient. Thank you for your thoughtful & well written responses for all of us who are eager to learn. I continue to read & learn & only wish I could afford to take an online course in TCM that's offered at one TCM college in Vancouver.
