Guest guest
This is a post for beginning TCM students. TCM diagnoses include the disease(s) as well as the TCM imbalance (s). But please keep in mind that what is called a " disease " in TCM often is called a symptom in Western medicine. Thus, both bloody urine and blood stranguary are " diseases " in TCM. The term " bloody urine " refers to blood in the urine without pain. The term " blood stranguary " refers to blood in the urine with pain. As you start to study TCM nephrology, you're going to see that word " stranguary " a lot. " Stranguary refers to urinary difficulty, pain, frequency, urgency, inhibition, and dribbing. There may be blood or stones in the urine or the urine may be turbid or oily. Stranguary generally corresponds to urinary tract infections, Kidney infections, and bladder and kidney stones in Western medicine. " (Clinical Nephrology in , Wei Li, David Frierman with Ben Luna and Bob Flaws, p. 115.) The important things to remember at this point are " bloody urine " means blood in the urine without pain, and " blood strangury " means blood in the urine with pain. Also that when the term " strangury " is applied, it means that there is pain in the urinary system as well as some other problems.
