Sinus Problems

After pondering the fact that sinus infections mean bad guy critters

proliferating in there, I thought " Well, what if I innoculate my sinuses with

preferable critters? " and tried fresh whey, full of lactobacilli. One part

whey, maybe 3 parts water with just enough salt to = body fluid salinity. I

taste it first. Then lie down, tip back my head and use a plastic pipette to

put

it in my nostrils drop by drop. After a bit I turn so my face is downwards,

to let the solution get into all those sinuses around the nose.

For a while afterwards I usually expell really thick mucous, kinda like

eggwhite. And real soon my sinus pain is greatly diminished if not gone.

Now the question is, why does one have chronic sinus trouble? In my

case I suspect a root canal in that area. Going to get checked by a special

dentist who does electrodermal testing, later this month.

Anyway, till I get to the root cause, I figure this is " the whey to go! "

Shivani

(If anybody wants to know more about it, e-mail me directly. I read

the list sporadically.)

I have been suffering with sinus headaches off and on for the past

month. I think some of it has to do with the weather. It has been

cloudy off and on every couple of days. I have tired sinus pills,

sinus/nose washes, aspirin, hot showers, etc. I would appreciate any

help in getting rid of the headachs.

Please check out:

http://www.acupressure.com/articles/coldflu.htm

In particular the point Bladder 2. Even though this is a chapter on

colds and flu, it has applications for sinus headaches.

The common cold, the flu, nasal congestion and runny nose, and certain

headaches (not all) have an underlying imbalance of Wind Cold or Wind

Heat Invading. Dampness also can invade and cause nasal and sinus

congestion. BTW, arthritis also has Roots of Wind, Cold, Damp

invasion.

A name for the Bladder 2 point is " Drilling Bamboo " . Often, when

people who need to work this point massage it, they will get a

drilling-like sensation.

I want to give a caution for the Stomach point below the cheek

directly below the pupil of the eye when one is looking forward. If

the person has an infected tooth, holding or massaging this point can

enable the infection to spread and in the long-run worsen pain from

the infected tooth. It can cause tooth infection to affect a wider

area because it does open up this area.

The author is very good about giving contraindications for pregnant

women. Some acupoints can bring on premature labor. If you pass info

about these acupoints to others, please be sure to mention when

certain points are contraindicated for pregnant women and make sure

the recepient of the info understands how important this

contraindicated in pregnancy info is. Acupressure and acupuncture do

really work.

In addition, you might find the chapter on improving the immune system

useful:
