The method is simple and is contained in the abstract (see below). The important points is to choose a comfortable posture and relax. Gradually, without straining, work up to the recommended times below. You might inspire for 5 seconds, hold your breath for 5 seconds and expire for 5 seconds in the beginning. This yogic technique is a 1 breath per minute (BPM) respiratory exercise with slow inspiration for 20 seconds, breath retention for 20 seconds, and slow expiration for 20 seconds, for 31 consecutive minutes.
