These types of observation are not made by true herbalists. The

primary thing that Reishi, Cordyceps, etc. are used for is to break

up the agglutinating proteins which are stressing the immune system -

there is nothing more useful for autoimmune functions. This is why

such herbs are fequently used for all types of 'over' functioning of

the immune system. I am not sure what scientific theory Marilyn is

using to advise against using Reishi and other immune regulators for

hyper immune functioning - but it is not commonly accepted theory. I

have seen many cases of autoimmunity processes benefited

tremendously by the use of such herbs - in fact it is a common

condition calling for such herbs. When the immune system is

imbalanced in some way then one needs immune modulators to help -

Reishi and Cordyceps are among the worlds best.

Astragulus because it can stress the Yin is another issue and one

needs advise with this herb. It can also be used for immune

malfunctions - excess and defecient - but it is not neutral in it's

energetics therefore it needs a little more caution.

oh pls dont misunderstand me! Im very much willing and interested to

take my TCM doctor's advice to take these herbs she mentioned that's

why Im doing alot of research. Im very sick and tired of those VERY

EXPENSIVE treatments and medicines that Im doing right now and I want

a more natural approach. If I can prove to my western doctor that

these herbs can balance my immune system, he wont need to " overdose "

me with those steroids, IVIG and etc. But what if im wrong and i

flared up my immune, then I would have wasted 15k worth of those

treatments/medicine and be laughed at =(

I doubt that your doctor will ever agree that natural things will help your

condition no matter what proof you find. They tend to be pretty close

minded.
