Just recently found a site about reishi. As I was telling you, its a

bit controversial for women with hyper-active immune like me to take

herbs even if we are willing to try chinese medicine because almost

all herbs says it boost immune system specifically Natural Killer

cells and TNFalpha (part of immune system) and we dont want that

because they caused our miscarriage. I asked several of my friends

and they say their TCM doctor usually recommends Reishi, cordyceps

and astralagus but when i did a research on reishi, this is what i

found --

" Reishi is generally considered an extremely safe supplement - but

because of its reported ability to stimulate immune function,

individuals with autoimmune syndromes, allergies, and other

conditions where a stimulation of the immune system would be

counterproductive, should use reishi with caution. "

I think the best way to explain our case is when we are pregnant,

its like we have a organ transplant. And as you know, when a person

have a organ transplant, he takes medicines to suppress the immune

system so it wont attack the " new " organ or in our case, our baby.

Its very complicated. We want to have our immune suppressed so it

wont attack the baby but still should be healthy enough not to

contract any infection/sickness since our immune defense is low.

Have you or any fellow TCM doctor or herbalist comes across treating

a organ-transplant patient? what do you think is the best way to

handle this case?

thank you so much for your time,

marilyn
