There are supposed to be 13 Ghost points, but there

are probably more than that, depending upon which

points are included and who does the counting.

These were called Ghost points because they relate to

mental illness or epilepsy, which were originally

regarded to be related to cases of possession by

ghosts or spirits.

Lonny Jarrett has a good discussion of these and you

can search him via or Google.

If you need more I may have some info available.

Not sure about the others.

Kind regards, Jack

Tks Jack...

I've already visited Lonny's webpage but was unable to find this kind of

information.

Do u know something about points called Ma Dan-Yang Heavenly Star ( or 12 points

shining bright as a starry sky)?

I got an acupuncture point compendium from College of Traditional Acupuncture-

UK and some points are named like this, but they do not explain qhat does ot

mean.

Tks again,

Roberta

I've mailed a separate copy of Wiseman and Feng's list

of 13 Ghost Points. Don't think they would get through

.

If anyone else would like a copy please let me know.

Dont' know the other points, unless you might be able

to show the Chinese characters?

Hi Jack. Tks again for the info.

All I got was from www.sacredlotus.com

They have the list of ghost pt, ma dan-yang pt, and window of heaven pt, but do

not explain well what are they and what we use them for, except ghost points.

Take a look there, if u can.

Usually do not allow attachments, so u can mail in pvt to me.

Tks again.

I'm having a look at the site, thank you. I wonder if

you have a specific application for these in mind, or

just curious?

My reason for asking is that, while these are used to

treat various diseases, there are different approaches

to dealing with each pattern.

For example, there are a number of different

approaches to treating what WM calls schizophrenia.

There are different approaches to treating mania of

the withdrawal type.

Then there are methods for treating epilepsy.

All of these include the Ghost Points, but the methods

vary according to condition and patient.

There's a book in Chinese about cases studies of mania

and epilepsy, but it probably hasn't been translated

yet.

This area truly interests me, so I look forward to

learning more from the site.

Kind regards, Jack

Hi Jack...

I'm just studying abou this subject. Here in Brazil it's not usual to learn

about this at acu schools.

I usually work with 8 pricipal patterns ( ba-gang bian-zheng), and then select

points according to each patient pattern.

My inquiry about those kind of points was just to learn a little more. I got an

atlas from classical 5 E acupuncture, and they identify those points there,

with no explanation... I got curious !

Tks again, Roberta

Hi, Roberta:

Yes, there isn't much literature on those points, this

seems like an area that needs more study. I'm always

curious to learn more.
